Choi Eungil, who lost his entire family to a landslide and spent his difficult years dependent on his aunt, becomes a government employee at the Meteorological Observatory and leaves Seoul for Usu-gol.

And on that very day, he meets a man named Geum Eundo, riding in a bright blue car.

"Hey, kid — where are you headed? Hop in. I'll take you there."

"Pardon? Kid... who are you talking to?"

"Oh? You're not a student? You're so small, and you looked just like a student in a school uniform."

"No. I work."

Choi Eungil follows the man — big as a bear, with eyes as beautiful as a cow's — and begins his boarding house life in Usu-gol. Unlike Seoul, the village is home to simple, warm-hearted people, and he gradually finds himself growing attached to it.

All the while, Geum Eundo — in a way that means something altogether different from Eungil's own quiet attachment — keeps hovering around him, launching an all-out offensive of food and clothing.

Anyone with half a brain would know exactly why this large man keeps doing this for him.

But could he really trust this kindness and affection he had never once received in his life? Could he believe in the sincerity of the man who teases him, calling him "Jongji" because he says his heart is no bigger than a small sauce dish?
