>Thrilling one-match showdown! I am the god of control! Championship Tournament Guide!
Hello! This is GM Semaring from the thrilling world of adventure, Card of Fantasy.
Starting Thursday the 26th, the next update, the ‘I am the Champion!’ and ‘We are the Champions!’ events will be held.
Each event will have differential rewards distributed by section, such as individual PvP ranking and guild PvP ranking percentages.
Also, according to the revised PvP application rules, rankings will now be combined across all servers, and rankings will be tallied separately for each class, guild, individual, and group (Party PvP―3:3/4:4/5:5), so please check ‘PvP Content Balance Patch Notice (Go directly)’ for details!
Also, the ‘I am the Champion!’ and ‘We are the Champions!’ events have ranks reset on the 1st of every month, so we ask for your active participation, users!
Thank you.]
“……What does this mean?”
I just blinked while looking at the event notice. Even after that, I checked the homepage for things like “combat idle motion” that I couldn’t tell what had changed at all.
Below that were tables organized by class for PvP skill cooldowns, applied target numbers, etc…… Honestly, it was boring. The terminology was too difficult.
“Well…… Is this good? Or bad?”
I couldn’t gauge it, so I kept comparing cooldowns and target numbers and looked at the motions, but since I was a layman when it came to PvP, I couldn’t get a feel for what changed or how it was applied.
On the other hand, the guild members’ group Discord room, which had many rankers, had been ringing with notifications nonstop.
From the moment it was announced that PvP would be revised, the guild members had been venting their anger without even seeing the results, saying things like “definitely ruined like shit” and “fucked game” and whatnot. Because of this update, if you took your eyes off it for even a minute, you’d have to scroll for several minutes—it became that chatty.
The guild members really, without resting for a moment, poured out complaints.
[Suckeot3] Hah… Whose idea was this anyway lol
[Yeongmyeong] real ㅠㅠ
[Suckeot3] I’m really sighing
[Bokgak] fucked
[Anajokiwojo] Guild wars across all servers means guilds will savagely fuck each other over
[Neda] The boards are already a collection of brainless people, but it’ll be even more chaotic going forward
[Haeyam] Total no answer-yam…… =ㅅ=
Not only was it generally bad, but the balancing for each class also seemed unsatisfactory.
[Anajokiwojo] Healers are fucked lol if you use holding and have a 10 second cooldown where are you supposed to run lol just sit there with your hands folded?
[Neda] Meanwhile only Lilith soared^^
[Yeongmyeong] Fuck I want a cigarette…
‘Hmm. Still, looks like our Aang is okay……’
While gauging the atmosphere, I picked up on the fact that at least Lilith, my main character’s class, had received decent balance adjustments. I didn’t show it to the guild members, but I was secretly pleased.
However, even Nanneokeo, who also played Lilith, joined the chat with a worried tone.
[Nanneomukeoeyeowo] Wait, are the rewards for We are the Champions decent? I don’t know about other things, but we definitely have to do this…… What about people who can’t log in on weekends from now on ㅜㅜ I need to ride
[Haeyam] Right-yam…… I’m already fucking tired-yam…… ㅇㅅㅇ
[Haeyam] Those Prosperity Guild bastards are already acting up, I want to punch them-yam ㅇㅂㅇ…
[Neda] Who are they?
[Neda] Seriously asking as someone who’s never heard of them
[Haeyam] lololololol
[Haeyam] That’s a guild that only does PvP-yam ㅇㅅㅇlol A bunch of losers with kill count pride gathered there-yam
[Bokgak] lol
[Bokgak] Their guild master used to get beaten by Banye-nim all the time
[Neda] lololol They’ll come out with their teeth sharpened this time
[Anajokiwojo] Hah I’m stressed…… But where’s Aang?
[Neda] Why are you looking for Aang-nim?
[Anajokiwojo] Need to relieve stress… I’m gonna hit him
[Bokgak] lololololol
I read up to here and found it absurd that Anaki was suddenly getting irritable at me, so I typed a question mark.
[Aang] ?
[Anajokiwojo] lol jk
Realizing I’d been teased again, I typed [ㅡㅡ]. Then this time he said bullshit like [Why? Gonna tattle to Banye?].
But then, with perfect timing, I heard the sound of the door opening.
It was Banye.
“What are you doing?”
“Just…… They said there’s a big update today, so I logged in.”
“Ah, ah.”
Banye nodded as if he knew.
“That combat update? It’s ruined.”
“Is it that bad?”
“Yes, well……”
“They said Lilith is fine.”
“Lilith is fine. But the ranked matches……”
Banye paused for a moment, then glanced over me and said kindly.
“Hyung doesn’t need to know. I’ll take care of it.”
The words only pretended to be kind, but the content was far from kind.
I bristled and glared at Banye.
“Hey, don’t look down on me!”
“I’m not looking down on you…… I’m going to run Aang anyway.”
“There’s also Banyecredit, isn’t there?”
Banye’s sub character and also a character I played for a bit…… or rather, it had already become as familiar to me as a main character, so I’d steadily raised its level.
It wasn’t max level yet, but before I’d hit max level in a week. If I put my mind to it, there was nothing I couldn’t achieve.
“Hyung can’t PvP well anyway.”
“I can practice!”
“Why are you so motivated?”
Even though I was trying to do well in my own way, Banye seemed somewhat dissatisfied.
“Just, I can’t be the only one left out, right? When everyone’s doing it.”
Before, I had no interest in anything besides crafting, but now I’d found some fun in running dungeons too. Of course, PvP was still outside my domain, but…… couldn’t I do it to some degree if I learned?
“Well, okay. Then Alchemist is…… Let me check.”
After hearing my resolution, Banye strode over and grabbed the mouse from behind me.
The distance between Banye and me became close. He must have just smoked a cigarette, as there was a faint smell of tobacco. Normally I wasn’t particularly fond of cigarette smell, but Banye’s smell was an exception…… My mood became strange.
I tried to push my chair away to escape, but Banye grabbed my chair and returned it to its original position.
“Where are you going?”
“Why are you grabbing me?”
“To check the update details.”
Banye clicked the mouse to check the Alchemist patch contents. He said something, and while I didn’t know the details, it didn’t seem to be a nerf.
“Alchemist patch contents aren’t bad. Then shall we start practicing?”
I wondered if he really needed to check in this position…….
Anyway, Banye, as if there was no need to delay, immediately asked on his Discord ID [Anyone want to go to the arena with Aang-nim’s Alchemist?].
While talking about other things, Suckeot-nim was the one who responded right away.
[Suckeot3] gg
[Bokgak] fuck
[Bokgak] too late thanks
[Suckeot3] lol go next round
[Anajokiwojo] Looks fun
[Neda] Please share your screen
“Hyung, just a moment.”
At Banye’s words that he’d show me a demonstration, I obediently stepped aside. Banye immediately logged into the game and redistributed Banyecredit’s skills toward combat.
[Guild][Suckeot3] But is Aang participating in this too
[Guild][Banyecredit] yeah
[Guild][Suckeot3] lol well it’s good we need to borrow even a cat’s paws
Suckeot3, who was bare-chested refreshingly, took the lead wearing cat ear headband.
Suckeot-nim’s character was a [Ranger]. Strong in hunting, but especially a class specialized in PvP.
On the other hand, even though Alchemist received a buff this time, it wasn’t a class strong in combat. Moreover, since Alchemist wasn’t even Banye’s main character, it was a disadvantageous situation.
“Will you be okay?”
“I’m not trying to win.”
Banye reassured me as I looked at him worriedly, then loosened his hands.
“I’ll explain, so watch carefully.”
