‘T-then… just a moment… mmph!’

Haejeong had been doing everything he could to coax a reluctant Munyeong, and in the end he couldn’t hold back — he crushed Munyeong’s lips against his right there in the doorway, without mercy. He grabbed Munyeong’s waist as he tried to pull away in a panic and locked him in place, unable to budge. Secretary Ju, who had only ever known her superior as easygoing or indolent, couldn’t help but be genuinely startled seeing Haejeong back Munyeong into a corner with such relentless force.

‘H-Haejeong……. Mmph…….’

‘Ha……. There’s no one around, no one……’

‘Ngh……. Even so…….’

‘What does it matter if someone sees. Hm? …Hoo……. Shit, Im Munyeong. Give me more tongue. Stop pulling it back. Fuck.’

He was like a dog in heat stamping his feet in desperation. Secretary Ju had no intention of listening or looking, but she’d frozen in place and couldn’t tear her eyes away. A sex scandal involving one’s direct superior was already a riveting topic for anyone working under them — but the fact that the lover in question was a man made it all the more scandalous. On top of that, watching her self-satisfied, imperious boss lose his composure and fall to pieces made it considerably more interesting.

Haejeong tilted his head this way and that, pinning the other against the wall, working his tongue with brute force. The movement of their tongues passing between each other’s mouths was clearly visible even from a distance. The wet, slick sounds of flesh and saliva colliding, Munyeong’s stifled moans as he struggled to breathe, and Haejeong’s ragged panting cut across the lobby like a chord.

‘Here, you can’t do this here… hnn, Haejeong, please……’

Munyeong clung to Haejeong’s shoulders and pleaded. Haejeong, eyes half-gone, slid his hand under Munyeong’s top and kneaded his bare skin without restraint. The touch moving against bare flesh was practiced enough that Munyeong had to press his thighs together and endure the sensation.

‘You… ha……. You have too many no’s…. You know that?’

Even as he grumbled irritably, Haejeong rubbed the corner of his lips against Munyeong’s like he found him utterly endearing, and pulled the clinging Munyeong tight against him as he breathed hotly into his ear.

‘Im Munyeong. Ha……’

With every word he pressed his lips to his ear and dragged his tongue over his earlobe.

‘You’re mine. You know that, right?’

‘Hnn……’

‘You’re completely mine now. Hoo…… Mine.’

He buried his nose in the warm, skin-scented curve of Munyeong’s neck and shook his head against it, relentless. The sight of his fully aroused superior was like a beast unashamed to court and beg for his mate.

‘W-wait……. Ah, ngh.’

Haejeong finally began pulling at Munyeong’s clothes, and Munyeong scrambled urgently to stop him. But Haejeong bit the edge of his jaw and swept him up.

‘Haejeong, Haejeong……. You’re way too worked up… let go of this, okay?’

Lifted off the ground and all, Munyeong reasoned with him in a hurried but gentle voice. But words never reached a beast with no regard for anyone.

‘Then how about we at least go inside… go inside first……’

‘Ha……. Go inside and have sex, you mean?’

‘……’

‘Sure… why not.’

Even when the other went completely quiet, Haejeong shamelessly answered, scooped Munyeong up in his arms, and hauled him into the office, letting the door fall shut behind them with a thud. What followed were the sounds of rustling and things knocking about here and there.

Secretary Ju witnessed the two men exchanging a heated kiss through the glass. Haejeong laid Munyeong down on the desk and pushed his face under the hem of his half-raised top. Munyeong, looking scandalized, moved to stop him.

‘D-don’t……. Ngh……’

‘Ha……. You’re always telling me not to do things.’

Haejeong grumbled, pulled his face back out, and lowered himself again to press his mouth against Munyeong’s. Like a man possessed by a ghost that had died without ever kissing anyone enough, he wouldn’t take his lips away. Even when he briefly moved to tease somewhere else, he’d raise his head again and come back to torment Munyeong’s mouth. He dragged his tongue along Munyeong’s lips, nibbled playfully at the tip of his tongue, and grinned — wicked and pleased. Secretary Ju watched and felt a shudder move through her. From an outsider’s perspective, he looked terrifyingly relentless. Like he was devouring the other person whole — mouth wide open, he forced his tongue past Munyeong’s hesitant lips with something close to aggression.

Then the blinds closed. She couldn’t sneak a look inside any further — though she had a pretty good idea of what was happening. Secretary Ju felt like washing her eyes out, and yet… she couldn’t help thinking that Munyeong, helplessly pinned in Haejeong’s arms, was rather adorable. Alongside, of course, a fair amount of sympathy.

“Hurry and give it to me……”

The flashback broke. Secretary Ju looked on from a distance as Munyeong tried to take the cart away from Haejeong. She let out a small, awkward cough.

“Shit, why is this so heavy?”

Haejeong took it from him anyway and grumbled irritably. On the other side, he even pushed the cart himself.

Munyeong was a bundle of nerves, hyper-aware of the people around them, but Haejeong paid no attention and pulled him all the way inside the office. Then he wrapped an arm around Munyeong’s shoulders as he hesitated at the entrance and whispered something in his ear. It didn’t carry far enough for Secretary Ju to catch — but judging by how red Munyeong’s face turned, it was anything but wholesome.

“…They’re really dating, huh.”

One of the front desk employees murmured quietly.

“Apparently Senior Managing Director Yeon dotes on him something fierce.”

“…No way. Seriously?”

“…I heard he even threatened the Chairman to get his approval.”

Secretary Ju listened to the front desk employees whispering among themselves and gave a small nod. The direct superior she knew seemed like exactly the kind of person who would.

“So they’re openly dating, then?”

“That’s why there was that announcement from upstairs a while back. Just to the executives and staff.”

“Oh, that one?”

“Yeah. The one about keeping quiet. They had everyone sign a new confidentiality agreement too.”

“That was because of Senior Managing Director Yeon?”

One of the front desk employees clapped a hand over their mouth in shock. Secretary Ju shook her head and made her way toward the secretarial office.

There was a mountain of briefings waiting for her, but now didn’t seem like the right time. A good secretary knew when to make herself scarce. Though admittedly, the times she had to make herself scarce were a little too frequent.

When Munyeong returned to the company, he was welcomed with open arms. The colleagues he worked alongside, and even Section Chief Jo, greeted him with bright, beaming faces, saying how glad they were to have him back. The warmth directed at him wasn’t something Munyeong was used to, but he accepted it gladly.

Coming back to the workplace that had been his steady routine put both his body and mind at ease. When that familiar rhythm had been broken, he’d genuinely struggled for a while. On top of that, splitting himself across two or three jobs at once was never easy. It was still early, but Haejeong had insisted on commuting together, so in the end they arrived side by side. Munyeong felt a little guilty for making him push himself — but honestly, he was glad. Commuting together, of all things. Haejeong had seemed to be in decent spirits too, though he’d grumbled for no real reason about why they were heading in so early.

He’d thought it would stay this peaceful for a while. Work was back, and the relationship — chaotic as it was — was somehow holding together.

Not that he was without anxiety. There could be bigger obstacles ahead, and given that Haejeong was deeply embedded in a chaebol family, marriage talk would inevitably come up at some point. And Haejeong’s mother was quiet for now, but there was no telling when she might resurface.

But he’d decided not to ignore the good that was right in front of him. Whatever might come later, Munyeong could no longer bring himself to give up the present. How do you throw away the things you’ve already come to know? Sharing meals together, falling asleep side by side, holding hands for no reason at all, kissing each other because they wanted to, sleeping together.

He could have stayed ignorant. But now that he knew all of it — how could he cut it off cleanly? Munyeong had decided to accept all of it, humbly. Whatever the ending might be — he’d decided to count even that as a blessing.

So he’d expected it to stay peaceful for a while. But the trouble was erupting from somewhere he hadn’t anticipated.

“Hey, you. Clean this up.”

“…Yes?”

Munyeong looked at Haejeong with troubled eyes as he barked at the employee.

Today’s scheduled task was the smoking room — a regular rotation. Clearing out the overflowing ashtray, picking up the litter scattered across the floor — all par for the course. But Haejeong had somehow found out his schedule and followed him there, and was now watching him. And as if that weren’t enough — “You just dropped a cigarette butt on the floor.”

He was making a strange kind of scene.

“…Ah, yes.”

Im Munyeong runs into his first love from high school, Yeon Haejeong, in an unexpected place.

Of all things — as a senior executive of a large company, and the cleaning staff of that very building.

Ten years since he buried his one-sided love. Munyeong hides his name and pretends not to know him, but whether or not Haejeong recognizes him, he drags Munyeong around with all kinds of petty excuses to assign him odd jobs.

Haejeong's strange attitude — as if he somehow remembers him — made Munyeong uncomfortable, but Munyeong tells himself it doesn't matter, because he no longer has any feelings for him.

"Don't tell me you still like me, Im Munyeong?"

At least, that's what he believed — until he heard those words from Haejeong.

"You call this cleaning?"

Yeon Haejeong snapped, his body swaying back and forth as he spoke in a contemptuous tone. Munyeong slowly looked between the stack of documents and him, then quietly picked up the trash.

"I'll be more careful."

Munyeong responded according to company protocol. The unspoken rule among the cleaning staff: no matter what the higher-ups say — I'm sorry and I'll be more careful. Answer with only those two.

"Ha."

Even in the face of such petty provocation, Munyeong didn't so much as flinch — the very picture of a professional. Yeon Haejeong let out a hollow breath, deflated.

This guy is completely ignoring me.

Munyeong hadn't ignored him at all, but Haejeong worked himself up on his own and shot to his feet. While Munyeong wiped down a single shelf, Haejeong moved his seat three times, shifting around restlessly.

Munyeong briefly wondered why Haejeong was in such a foul mood this early in the morning — but then dropped the thought. Thinking about it wouldn't change anything; it had nothing to do with him and wasn't something he should concern himself with. So he focused only on his work.

"This part too. Look at all the fingerprints on the glass."

In the meantime, Haejeong had drifted toward the glass wall and was tapping on the fully transparent window, grumbling his dissatisfaction.

"Oh, yes."

At his words, Munyeong stopped what he was doing and walked over to the glass, grabbing the glass cleaner and giving it a few quick spritzes. Haejeong had been standing idly beside him, his guard down, when a few droplets flew onto his face — and he suddenly raised his voice.

"Ugh, ptoo! What the — ptoo, ptoo!"

Haejeong made a dramatic scene out of it, and Munyeong, startled, quickly grabbed a tissue and handed it to him.

"Are you alright? I'm sorry."

Munyeong bowed his head in a polished apology, and for some reason, the sight of it only irritated Haejeong further.

"Hey, you did that on purpose."

"…Pardon?"

"You did it on purpose. You knew I was right there and you just sprayed it everywhere."

"…I barely sprayed any…."

Munyeong was right. Worried it might get on Haejeong, Munyeong had even angled the nozzle away to be careful as he sprayed.

"My eye is stinging like crazy right now."

Haejeong lifted one eyelid to show him and kept up his complaints. Munyeong hadn't considered that any of it could have gotten into his eye, and flustered, he stood there fidgeting. I should probably get some eye drops — were there any in the staff room? Munyeong thought for a moment.

"My eye hurts, I said! Come look!"

Haejeong threw an even bigger fit and shoved his face forward. Munyeong hesitated, then — doing as he wanted — carefully examined his eye. The sudden closeness brought Munyeong's faint breath brushing against Haejeong's cheek.

"…It doesn't look red…."
