As soon as he slammed the door shut, he pushed Kyungwoo onto the bed.
Thud.
Unlike before, his body fell limply, which was pitiful but also stirred up a desire to devour him completely from head to toe.
Jaeha pulled his t-shirt off over his head right there. In the meantime, Kyungwoo only threw off his training pants.
Just as he was about to leap at him, he suddenly realized something was missing. Jaeha swallowed a curse.
“Where did I put it?”
Because he was in a hurry, he couldn’t think even more. It couldn’t be in the medicine cabinet, and he hadn’t put it in the bathroom attached to the bedroom either. He opened the small drawer next to the bed.
Then he saw the welcome silver wrappers. He grabbed all of them and threw them on the bed. Several fell on top of Kyungwoo.
“Seo Jaeha, hurry.”
Kyungwoo, who had gotten into position at some point, grabbed Jaeha’s hand and brought it to his lips. As his front teeth gnawed at his fingernails and then his tongue licked a joint of his middle finger, Jaeha’s rationality snapped.
“Eat and sleep.”
Around midnight, Jaeha woke up Kyungwoo who was sleeping as if knocked out.
“Mmm.”
Even though they’d done it three times in a row and he’d slept for about two hours, Kyungwoo couldn’t come to his senses. After heating up the completely cold egg porridge and setting it on the table, he woke him up again.
“Eat and sleep.”
“Ugh…”
Kyungwoo, who’d been groaning, slowly got up at Jaeha’s urging. Embarrassed by his bruised body, he unfolded the shirt that had been crumpled in a corner of the bed and put it on him. Thinking he’d put on pants on his own, he sat at the table first, but Kyungwoo shuffled over with his lower half completely exposed. Fortunately, since it was a long shirt, the important parts were at least covered.
“My back hurts. You beast bastard. Even a gorilla would be less rough than you. I’m thirsty, so give me water first.”
“A guy who egged on someone who was going to do it gently has a lot to say.”
The sight of a grown man acting coquettish was quite refreshing and cute. When he poured a glass of water, Kyungwoo emptied half of it in one gulp before looking at the porridge set in front of him.
Surprisingly, he had a good appetite and ate the hot porridge quite well as soon as he picked up the spoon.
“Sleep a bit more and then go up.”
When the meal ended, Jaeha said while clearing away the empty dishes.
“I thought we were going back to how things were before.”
As if flustered, Kyungwoo approached Jaeha’s side.
“Today’s a weekday. Tomorrow’s a weekday too. What about the company? You have to go to work.”
“I took a few days off.”
Kyungwoo wrapped his arms around Jaeha’s waist and leaned against his back. His body was still warm.
“The more you do this, the more complicated the situation gets. There are already obstacles scattered everywhere.”
“Who?”
“Your noona.”
“She doesn’t matter anymore.”
As he said that, Kyungwoo slowly stroked Jaeha’s abs. After going on about gorillas and such. It seemed he still hadn’t fully learned the lesson of reckless provocation.
“I’m thinking of submitting my resignation.”
“What?”
Jaeha was shocked and pulled off the two arms that were wrapped around him. He turned around and stared at the scoundrel.
“Why are you surprised? I’m going to submit my resignation.”
“Wait, can an owner even submit a resignation?”
“To be precise, the owner isn’t me but my father. I’m just a shareholder. There’s no law that says shareholders must work at the company.”
“It doesn’t seem like a problem that can be solved that simply.”
“There’s no need to think complicatedly. I prefer being with Seo Jaeha over the company. The stocks and assets I’ve already inherited are enough.”
“Is Jung Kyungrok satisfied with that too?”
“Mm. Probably if I disappear from Mother’s sight, it’ll work out.”
“What’s that supposed to mean? Explain so I can understand.”
When he asked seriously, Kyungwoo sighed briefly.
“The exact reason Noona got angry isn’t because I’m dating a man. She’s worried about Mother being shocked when she finds out about this.”
“Ah, so if you disappear from Mother’s sight, it’s solved? You’re saying something even kindergarteners wouldn’t say.”
“We’re not close anyway. No matter how much family, sometimes living apart is better.”
“So if you submit your resignation and disappear on your own, your family will gladly let you go.”
Jaeha snorted at this outdated idea that wouldn’t even appear in children’s romance comics.
“I’ve always lived as a side-branch family member alone. Even if I return to those days, I don’t see any particular problems.”
He’d hit quite a core point. Kyungwoo and his other family members didn’t seem to have much family affection. It was natural since they had completely different upbringings.
“That’s fine for you, but what about me? I’m the one who suffered direct damage, you know that?”
“I’ll restore things on my own.”
“Yeah, you’ll really take care of it yourself. A bastard who looked half-dead after being apart for just a few weeks.”
Jaeha stroked Kyungwoo’s hollow cheek with his thumb. His dry lips trembled slightly. Jaeha kissed them briefly.
“Your credit as a boyfriend is shit. I won’t listen to what you say anymore. So from now on, do what I say.”
“What are you going to do? As just an ordinary prosec…”
He punished the wicked lips trying to retort with another kiss. After pulling him by the waist and leisurely exploring his mouth that tasted of savory egg porridge, Jaeha finally let him go. Kyungwoo seemed satisfied as he rested his forehead on Jaeha’s shoulder.
“I know you’re an ordinary prosecutor even without you saying it. Jung Kyungwoo.”
“Do you have a good plan?”
“I have no intention of taking on all of Taeryoung. I just need a card worth throwing at Jung Kyungrok.”
“You can’t beat Noona with an ordinary card.”
“Then I’ll prepare a card that’s not ordinary, right?”
“It seems like you have something. But it’ll be difficult if your parents step in.”
“When it comes to parent problems, there’s only one answer.”
“What?”
“Frontal breakthrough.”
At those words, Kyungwoo’s head shot up. He almost bumped his chin on the top of his head.
“You called someone less than a kindergartener, but it seems you’re not much different.”
“At least I’m wearing pants.”
“No, you crazy bastard. That’s not what I mean.”
Kyungwoo was irritated. He pushed Jaeha away and asked, “How are you going to do a frontal breakthrough?”
“I’ll tell Mother directly and ask for her understanding.”
“What?”
Facing his opponent who made an absurd expression as if asking what kind of bullshit he was barking, Jaeha asked.
“You’ve never once thanked Mother for preparing food for you, have you?”
“Well…”
Kyungwoo, who’d been gaping, soon quieted down.
“I thought so. That’s why your noona protects Mother like that and goes wild. Tsk.”
Jaeha, who shook his head, approached Kyungwoo and said firmly.
“Do what I tell you. If it goes wrong, then you can submit your resignation or whatever you want, and I won’t stop you.”
“If I submit my resignation, promise you’ll live with me in one house, and I’ll think about it.”
“Why? Why not just say let’s get married?”
“That’s not bad either. Should we hold a ceremony in America?”
“Stop it. It sounds like you’re serious and it’s giving me chills. If it doesn’t go my way, I’ll consider spending every weekend together.”
“Including public holidays?”
He glanced at the guy who was calculating meticulously.
“At times like this, you really are the bloodline of an exploitative corporate owner.”
“You just realized?”
“Fine. If it doesn’t go my way, I’ll devote all legal public holidays to you.”
“Then it’s time to sign and receive the down payment.”
Kyungwoo kissed Jaeha. Then he took off the single piece of clothing he was wearing right there.
As soon as morning came, he took half the morning off with the excuse that he was in a fender bender last night and his body hurt.
He forcibly bought breakfast for Kyungwoo who was stubbornly refusing to go and sent him off. Even after starting the car, to the guy who made a sour face and insisted on whether he really had to go, Jaeha drew a firm line.
“Come on the weekend. A man who abandons his work is pathetic and uncool.”
“I’ll come down Friday night.”
“Saturday.”
“Friday night.”
After confirming again, Kyungwoo quickly rolled up the window as if he wouldn’t listen to the answer and disappeared.
“Anyway, he’s cute in many ways.”
As soon as he arrived at work before lunchtime ended, the branch office chief called him. When he went to the chief’s office, he discovered a familiar face on the tacky, heavy sofa set positioned right in the center of the wide room.
One was, of course, the bald turtle branch office chief, and the other was the city councilman who’d bothered Jaeha every time.
“Oh, Prosecutor Seo.”
He went over at the branch office chief’s gesture and bowed his head. Then the city councilman grinned with a greasy face.
“Ah, Prosecutor Seo. You’re so hard to see. Even yesterday our employee ran into you on the street. Why didn’t you come along?”
To those sly words, Jaeha answered with a faint smile.
“Yesterday, I just finished submitting to the video analysis room the dashcam footage that caught the bastards who violated traffic laws with sudden braking, got out of their car to obstruct my vehicle’s path, and extorted me. Were they people you know?”
At those words, the city councilman’s face darkened like charcoal. The bald turtle looked at Jaeha with narrowed eyes as if interested.
“My muscles were a bit shocked from that incident, so I was late today. I apologize.”
“Well, if you’re hurt, you have to get treated. Don’t you need to go to the hospital?”
“If there are any problems after work, I’m planning to go.”
“With traffic accidents, you should always take photos in advance. Seeing as you say it’s extortion, it seems like an insurance fraud ring. Is the dashcam footage clear?”
“Yes. When I checked it individually, the faces came out properly. The perpetrator’s vehicle was a cannon car.”
“Another cannon car? Aigoo. All sorts of things. Go ahead and shake them down. How dare they threaten a prosecutor. Since the councilman says he knows, while you’re here, conduct a witness investigation.”
Then the branch office chief asked the city councilman, whose face had turned ashen, “You’ll cooperate, right?”
“No, I’m busy right now.”
There were already two empty instant coffee cups on the table. The city councilman stood up abruptly, looked at Jaeha while clearing his throat, gave only a rough eye greeting, and hurriedly disappeared.
“What kind of bastard are you from morning, jumping around. What kind of bastard. A prosecutor of the Republic of Korea, that’s what. A prosecutor with a full head of hair.”
The branch office chief, who shook off his clothes as if shaking off an annoying leech, went and sat at his desk.
“You sent a video to Central District Prosecutors’ Office, right? Did you send your car’s dashcam there?”
He didn’t know that had already reached the branch office chief’s ears.
