"I have time — I'm just a beta."

In a world where betas sit at the bottom of the social hierarchy, Jin Hee-won — a beta who somehow landed a job at a company populated mostly by alphas and omegas — can't quite tell if that makes him lucky or not.

All he wants is to live quietly, without drawing attention to himself. But he has the misfortune of getting on the wrong side of Kim Ha-geon, an alpha team leader who got his position through nepotism, and ends up stuck on coffee duty.

And on the very first day of his coffee runs, he notices something strange — the looks people are giving him are different from usual…

"Hee-won, there's no alpha or omega in this company who uses a mint scent — whose fragrance is that on you?"

Ah. You told me to go buy coffee. You never said anything about showering in your pheromones, sir.

"He's a beta, right?"

"How did he even get in……"

"I don't know, don't talk to him. He really has no scent at all. First time seeing a beta."

"I went to an alpha-omega exclusive school, so……"

He can hear all of it. Hee-won exhaled slowly. Just finish putting things away and leave. He tidied up his desk roughly, picked up his bag, and stood.

The rustling sounds of him packing must have drowned out the approaching footsteps. The moment he turned around, he startled — there was a man standing right behind him. Could've at least made some noise before appearing. He'd nearly reached for the beta self-defense spray he kept on him just in case and doused the guy with it. If this man thought flashing a handsome face was going to work on Hee-won, he was very much mistaken.

"New hire? Do you have a moment?"
