A Guide with 10 Years of Experience 74

# Chapter 74

The unwelcome visitors from America were transported to the airport by helicopter. They would soon be loaded onto a plane and deported from Korea.

“It’s humiliating…”

Though they had lost consciousness under Suhyun’s power, being S-class Espers, they quickly regained consciousness.

The fortunate thing was that they didn’t appear to have any intention of attacking again.

“Hey, won’t you consider coming to America? Let’s fight fair and square next time.”

Suhyun openly ignored Kalik, who spoke of fighting “fair and square” after kidnapping Jiwon and fighting two against one.

“It will disappear on its own by the time you arrive.”

In response to Suhyun’s words as he readjusted the translucent barrier imprisoning Kalik and Chase, Kalik laughed dejectedly.

“What happens if we break out?”

Then he smiled playfully.

The barrier, completely different from the one that had once imprisoned Won Jungyeom and himself, looked so eerie that they didn’t even consider touching it.

“All the surrounding air will disappear. Break it if you want to die.”

As expected.

It was a terrifying prison that would send them to the afterlife if they tried anything foolish.

“How scary.”

Kalik pretended to be surprised with wide eyes, then shrugged. It seemed he had no intention of breaking it in the first place.

After rushing at them relentlessly earlier, his attitude couldn’t be more casual now.

“Well, it was fun anyway.”

Kalik continued speaking while sitting obediently. The interpreter diligently translated his words, though they weren’t particularly worth listening to.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been so completely overwhelmed. Even being imprisoned and deported like this. I never expected it. Right, Chase?”

“You find that enjoyable? Isn’t it just shitty?”

“Yeah, I enjoy it. When there’s someone stronger than me, it makes me want to get stronger too.”

“You’re crazy.”

Chase shook his head. Suhyun let out a brief sigh.

“Why don’t you use that remarkable competitive spirit to deal with the Riska dungeon?”

The interpreter was the only one who hadn’t been attacked during the earlier fight. It was because he was neither a Guide nor an Esper, placing him outside Suhyun’s interest.

However, he must have been quite afraid, as he relayed Suhyun’s words as if missing even a single word would be disastrous.

“Riska is weak.”

Whatever. Kalik was busy running his mouth, his brow furrowed in complaint.

“It’s nothing, really. The problem is that it controls these guys’ heads. That’s why we came here to solve it…”

Kalik’s gaze fell on Jiwon. Suhyun immediately moved to block him.

“Riska is strong. You are the weak one.”

A low voice resonated. Jiwon bit his lip as he looked at Suhyun’s broad back.

“Mind control is their ability. You are weak because you couldn’t overcome it.”

Suhyun personally repeated the word “weak” twice. Kalik, who had been momentarily silent, clicked his tongue.

“You just got lucky with your Guide.”

Suhyun sighed as if Kalik was pathetic.

“We’ll see.”

Suhyun turned away abruptly, feeling no value in further responding to Kalik, who only seemed to fixate on Jiwon.

Just then, the door of the plane opened. Kalik, Chase, the interpreter, and Adam, who was still unconscious, were loaded onto the plane in turn.

“Is it really okay to send them off like this?”

Jiwon, watching them, asked Jo Wooyeon who was standing at a distance.

Wooyeon nodded in response.

“We can’t keep them in Korea, nor can we kill them. The discussion with America is over.”

He looked at Suhyun and then moistened his dry lips. Though he was acting relatively calm, he still seemed surprised by how Suhyun had handled the American Espers.

Just a few dozen minutes ago.

Right after Suhyun had knocked out Kalik and Chase, ability users including Wooyeon had rushed in.

They had tracked Suhyun’s location, but none of them thought he could win against two S-class Espers from America. Most had reluctantly followed orders.

But none of them had a chance to act. It was because Suhyun had already settled everything. Jiwon smiled bitterly, recalling that moment when everyone looked at each other with blank faces.

Surprise, awe, and faint fear swirled among them. It couldn’t be helped.

“It was Adam’s unilateral decision, and the U.S. government has assured us that something like this will never happen again, so we have to trust them.”

Wooyeon quickly assessed the situation and immediately prepared for their deportation. He also didn’t forget to contact the United States to hold them accountable for this situation.

“What if these Espers come back on their way?”

“Then we’ll have to publicly announce to the world that American Espers tried to kill the only Esper and Guide who can currently respond to the Riska dungeon. So everyone can sanction them.”

“Ah.”

“No country would want to see Guide Jiwon and Esper Suhyun die.”

Jiwon felt somewhat relieved by his swift handling. It didn’t seem like they would return, but this wasn’t something that could be judged by appearances alone.

“More importantly, I think you need Guiding.”

Wooyeon casually asked as he watched the Americans being docilely loaded onto the plane.

Jiwon nodded. He had been aware that Suhyun’s condition was terrible.

“After watching them leave.”

However, the situation wasn’t conducive to pulling Suhyun aside for proper Guiding.

“If any problems arise, I’ll call you. Get to the Guiding first. I’ve had a car waiting outside.”

“But…”

“You want to do the Guiding, don’t you, Guide Jiwon? Isn’t that why you’re so restless?”

Wooyeon’s voice must have been loud, as Jiwon felt Suhyun’s gaze on him. Feeling somewhat embarrassed, Jiwon avoided his gaze.

As Wooyeon said, Jiwon had wanted to Guide Suhyun for a while now. But only Suhyun could control the American Espers.

He had been holding back, thinking they should at least wait until they departed.

“Where is it?”

Jiwon thought Suhyun would feel the same way.

“Just outside the airport. An employee will guide you.”

“Understood.”

However, contrary to his expectation, Suhyun immediately accepted Wooyeon’s suggestion.

“We’ll go now. Contact us if there’s any problem.”

Suhyun abruptly grabbed Jiwon’s wrist. As soon as the hand that had been apart from him touched, Jiwon reflexively attempted Guiding. But Suhyun shook his head, so he had to refrain.

In fact, hand Guiding had already reached its limit. By the end of the fight, the Guiding speed had slowed considerably, and Jiwon’s condition had worsened.

Recognizing this, Suhyun had since refused Jiwon’s hand. He knew that continuing to attempt Guiding that wasn’t working would harm the Guide’s body.

Jiwon understood that Suhyun was considering him, but he was still anxious. He wanted to do even minimal Guiding. It was too obvious that Suhyun’s condition was unstable. Though not certain, he had a feeling that the stability had plummeted below 40.

“……”

Still, he had tried to be patient until the situation was resolved, until Suhyun could relax.

Jiwon followed Suhyun who was walking with steady steps, trying to calm his quickened heartbeat.

He wasn’t sure if this was relief at being alive or if he was anxious because of Suhyun’s wavelength.

What was certain was that Suhyun seemed a bit… unfamiliar right now.

‘I thought he was just a kid.’

Suhyun’s back looked particularly large today. The hand holding him felt especially solid. He couldn’t understand why Suhyun felt so big.

Suhyun had always been strong. Why did he only realize this now?

‘How stupid…’

Having been a Guide for a long time, Jiwon believed he could lead Suhyun.

But when the situation became tense, far from maintaining rationality, he had trembled endlessly.

Rather than standing firm and supporting him, he had stood behind Suhyun and worried, which honestly troubled him.

Was his pride hurt?

Just relying on Suhyun. Even the fact that this had all happened because he had been kidnapped.

“I think that’s our car.”

The fact that Suhyun’s wavelength had become such a mess was ultimately due to his carelessness.

“Yes…”

Did he want to appear mature?

Jiwon swallowed a sigh. If so, today was a complete failure. Mature? He had just been pushed around.

‘I should at least do the Guiding properly.’

Since things had turned out this way, there was no choice. What Suhyun needed now was Guiding. Jiwon was seized by a sense of duty to do it perfectly, without any deficiency.

“Here’s the car key.”

As the two approached the car, the waiting driver came out and handed the key to Suhyun.

Without replying, Suhyun took the key and immediately opened the back door. Jiwon got in first, followed by Suhyun. There was a loud click as the door locked.

“With hands, it won’t—mmph!”

Since Guiding by hand wasn’t working anymore, he thought they’d need to increase the level of physical contact.

Jiwon had intended to ask for understanding first.

But he wasn’t given the chance to speak. The moment the door closed, Suhyun pressed his lips against Jiwon’s.

“Haah…”

Though surprised since Suhyun had never taken the initiative like this before, Jiwon didn’t push him away. Instead, Jiwon wrapped his arms around Suhyun’s neck and carefully welcomed the hot flesh that invaded his mouth.

His breath caught in his throat in an instant. Jiwon lifted his hips slightly to better align with Suhyun. He tried to maintain his composure to calm his wildly beating heart.

“…Mmh!”

But composure quickly vanished. Suhyun, who had been sucking on his lips, slowly licked Jiwon’s cheek and earlobe, then strongly bit his neck.
