The Angel Who Devoured the Ghost 69

Youngeun took her eyes off Hyungoh and showed interest in Theo.

“So you’re that little brat from next door?”

Theo narrowed his eyes. Little brat?

“You know me?”

“Of course. You’re that little brat who was always getting beaten by the drunk.”

She looked Theo up and down. You’ve grown a lot. Theo guessed that the drunk she was referring to meant his father. Have I seen this woman before? No matter how much he tried to recall old memories, nothing came up.

One of the cars blocking the road slowly approached her. A small passage had formed among the randomly parked cars. Theo didn’t miss this opportunity and signaled to Jeff with his eyes.

Jeff hesitated. Just leave like this? What about you? As Jeff opened and closed his mouth, Theo glared at him.

After reading the savage curses in Theo’s eyes, Jeff shut his mouth. This guy is so reckless. Always pushing forward without thinking things through. He fiddled with the steering wheel before nodding. Yeah, this is Theodore’s charm. He looks even sexier at times like this than in bed.

Jeff stepped on the accelerator. Hyungoh shouted urgently.

“Wait, what are you doing!”

“I don’t know either!”

Jeff answered as if screaming. He pressed down harder on the accelerator.

“Sacrificing yourself for a friend, what a beautiful friendship.”

She stared blankly at the car disappearing at high speed and said. Is she just letting us go? Theo secretly glanced at her.

“How do you know me?”

She smiled contentedly at Theo’s efforts to get her attention.

“I used to be on good terms with Hunter. He often invited me to his house.”

She spoke as if briefly reminiscing about those times. That’s how I know you. Whenever I came here, you were secretly peeping at Hunter. Well, Hunter seemed to enjoy that too.

Theo’s memories of himself as a child were vague. He’d been watching Hunter since then? Even before his father died? Perhaps the beginning of his unrequited love started earlier than he thought. This is practically a lifelong crush. Theo let out a hollow laugh.

“I had no idea Hunter enjoyed my gaze.”

“Looks like you’ve gotten close to him now?”

“Of course. We’re absolutely crazy about each other.”

Theo said shamelessly.

“Really?”

After checking her watch, she gestured to the others. They got back in the car and started the engine.

“That’s good to hear.”

She slowly passed by Theo and headed toward the car on the opposite side. Eight muscular men who had been following her surrounded Theo.

Ah. Shit. The quick-witted Theo cursed. Just as he tried to step back, a man’s fist jabbed into his stomach.

The woman in the car watched Theo intently as he collapsed to the ground from the men’s merciless attack. Despite the collective lynching, he stubbornly maintained his consciousness.

“Still as tough as ever.”

After a moment, she honked at them. The men standing around Theo gradually moved aside. She flicked her finger at the person sitting in the driver’s seat. The car’s wheels slowly rolled toward Theo.

Ha. Theo let out an incredulous laugh. The car in front of him approached without any intention of stopping. Theo barely moved his broken arm and gritted his teeth as he faced the car that was gradually picking up speed.

She smiled with satisfaction. Theo had staggered to his feet and thrown his phone from his pocket. It hit the passenger side windshield right in front of where she was sitting.

“What a temper.”

The car hit Theo just like that. It was a movement without a hint of hesitation. Theo floated in the air before being thrown to the ground, letting out a few pain-filled moans before becoming quiet.

She got out of the car and examined the fallen Theo. One man approached her, crouched down, and checked Theo’s pulse.

“He’s alive.”

“I know.”

She recalled a time more than ten years ago. That day when she was having tea time, sitting side by side with Hunter on a rocking chair. A familiar gaze had been fixed on them. Is it that child again? Hunter laughed at her murmur.

He’s an interesting kid. He’s tried to kill his own father several times. She took a sip of tea at his words. I guess he was tired of just getting beaten up. It’s common in this area.

Hunter shrugged. Well, that boy is different from other youngsters. If I hadn’t interfered, he would have killed not only his father but several other people too. She looked at Theo, who was still peeking his face over the fence. He doesn’t look more than five years old. Hunter nodded in agreement. That’s why he’s interesting.

Just wait and see. He’ll be a very useful guy later.

She knelt on one knee as she quietly looked down at Theo, whose body was covered in blood. Hunter had definitely said so. She didn’t agree with him then, but now it seems like he was right. She grabbed the unconscious Theo’s hand and greeted him with a broad smile.

“Nice to meet you again, Cooper-kun. My name is Enya Cenaline.”
