# 059. Day and Night (13)
Indeed, the Galaxy Shop’s description wasn’t lying.
Even Jaehee was surprised when he threw “Whatever OK.” The endless green field that had stretched out suddenly shot upward. The ground surged upward as if an earthquake had struck. The entire area looked as if it had suffered a natural disaster.
Seeing that “Whatever OK” was much more powerful than expected, Jaehee also purchased a few “Power Boom Boom.”
“Yes! Wow! All the stress I’ve been feeling just flies away. If I destroy everything like this, something will come out, right?”
Ding!

“Oh…!”
He hadn’t expected it, but dropping bombs had raised his Galaxy Shop level.
Plus a discount too. At this point, wasn’t the system practically endorsing his bombing spree?
Jaehee snickered and, taking advantage of the discount, ordered a few more bombs. Though his points were nearly depleted, he didn’t care. Points were only useful while you were alive—what use would they be after Jeongwoo died?
So Jaehee gleefully continued detonating bombs.
It felt like the frustration that had been building up inside him was starting to clear. In areas where the “Whatever OK” hadn’t fully reached, he meticulously sprinkled “Power Boom Boom.”
“Hahaha! Disappear, all of you! Damn, if only Jeongwoo wasn’t in that white castle, I’d just blow the whole thing up.”
Giggling as he said this, he felt like a great villain.
And Jaehee’s hunch was correct.
While running desperately toward the castle hadn’t brought him any closer, now that he was standing still and just throwing bombs, the castle was starting to draw near.
It wasn’t even funny anymore.
Well, the original solution probably wasn’t to mindlessly bombard the place, but to find a way to reach the castle. But solutions aren’t always singular, right? As long as you reach Seoul, it doesn’t matter if you take a roundabout route, and as long as you clear the dungeon, it doesn’t matter how you do it.
Seeing the white castle gradually get closer, Jaehee paused his bomb-throwing. Now the castle wasn’t too far away.
“Huk…”
When the deafening explosion sounds subsided and it eventually became quiet, an out-of-place sound was heard.
It was a sound so small that he would normally have ignored it. But since he hadn’t heard many other sounds after Jeongwoo collapsed in the subway, Jaehee couldn’t help but react sensitively to even the slightest noise.
He muffled his footsteps and carefully headed toward the source of the sound.
The thought that there was something else here besides himself made him both curious and indignant.
As he approached, he discovered something in a crater formed by an exploded bomb.
“Hieeeek”
“What are you?”
Seeing Jaehee approach, it shrieked in surprise and tried to run away, but Jaehee quickly jumped and grabbed it by the scruff of its neck.
Large ears, a pointed snout. A small body covered in fluffy orange fur.
At first glance it looked like a puppy or a kitten, but it was clearly a fox.
Jaehee grinned at it. Now he had an inkling of what was going on.
“Aha, I see. Now I understand what’s happening. This is the work of your fox clan, isn’t it?”
The young fox had apparently been secretly observing Jaehee and was injured by one of his bombs. Jaehee held up the fox and snickered.
Though it was a young fox, the thought that it had been hiding and watching him was irritating. It must have been snickering as it watched him struggle and toil away.
“Hey, where’s your leader?”
“Kyung!”
He grabbed it firmly by the neck and lifted it to eye level.
The fox Jaehee had seen before, Seohuryorang, had been house-sized, so seeing such a small fox felt strange. Would such a small fox grow that large over time?
“Tell me. Where’s your leader? In that castle over there?”
“Kyung! Kyung! Kyung!”
“Hmm…”
The fox yapped back somewhat defiantly, but it was so small that it wasn’t threatening at all—rather, it seemed insignificant and laughable.
Turning it this way and that, Jaehee noticed its hind leg appeared to be injured. He pondered for a moment. In a sense, this little creature had been spying on him and reporting back, so there was no real need to heal its wounds. But since it had injured its leg, he was worried about how to carry it.
In the end, Jaehee roughly bandaged the fox’s injured leg and put it in his pocket. To ensure it wouldn’t suffocate and die, he made a small breathing hole for its nose.
“Ka-ka-kyung… Ka-ka-ka-kyung…”
“Fox. Let’s see if there are any more of your comrades around.”
“Ka-ka-kyung…Ka-ka-kyung…”
“If you don’t want to talk, you don’t have to say anything. Just stay with me.”
The fox whimpered pitifully, but Jaehee secured it at his waist. Now he really looked like a hunter. The difference was that hunters usually carry dead animals at their waist, while his was still alive.
Ignoring the yapping cries, he moved on. Jaehee found another wounded fox in the severely excavated ground.
This fox, seeing Jaehee, trembled in fear and buried its head. Was it scared of the bombs, or frightened that its identity had been revealed?
After treating the fox just enough to keep it alive, Jaehee continued exploring various places.
It wasn’t difficult to know what to look for.
Like an experienced hunter, Jaehee found foxes that were hiding one by one. Most of the foxes were injured, and Jaehee treated them just enough to keep them breathing before putting them in a large bag.
Jaehee now headed toward the white castle. The white castle, which he had been unable to approach until now, seemed to be waiting for him, remaining still in its place.
Jaehee entered the castle with foxes hanging all around him.
The inside of the white castle was quiet. The interior was also mostly white, giving it a somewhat cold feeling.
Why would a place like this be called the Castle of Desire?
Jaehee took out his remaining bombs and secured them at his waist, ready to throw them one by one if necessary. The foxes in his pockets whimpered and yapped.
Jaehee felt as if he had become a great villain.
Well, becoming a villain to save Jeongwoo didn’t feel so bad after all.
In the center of the castle was a large staircase.
He had a feeling that Jeongwoo would be on the top floor.
Isn’t that how it usually is? The princess waits at the highest point of the tower.
Though he understood the intended picture, he didn’t particularly want to play along.
Surely, they would have set traps up there, and Seohuryorang and her clan would be waiting for him to reach that point.
Instead of going up, Jaehee stomped his foot hard on the ground. It was a loud sound that made the entire castle echo.
“Seohuryorang! Come out! I already know who set this up, so let’s not waste each other’s time unnecessarily.”
But there was no answer.
Jaehee clicked his tongue and took out one fox from the bag, throwing it on the floor.
“Kyung! Kyekyung! Kyekyung!”
The fox’s pitiful, sharp cries echoed through the castle. But still, Seohuryorang did not appear. Jaehee continued and threw another fox on the floor.
“I happened to see your family members on the way. You don’t seem to value your family much, do you?”
As soon as he finished speaking, he took out yet another fox and threw it down.
Jaehee kept only the youngest fox he had found first and threw all the others on the floor, then pretended to grab a bomb.
Three foxes were on the castle floor, curling their tails around each other and whimpering sadly.
In truth, Jaehee had no intention of detonating bombs in the place where Jeongwoo was.
But Seohuryorang’s lack of response was irritating.
