# Chapter 33

“You looked at me like such a good child. I’m getting off now. Can you walk by yourself?”

After checking the rapidly ascending numbers and speaking, Jaehwi obediently moved aside. He got off the elevator by himself and began walking down the hotel corridor, staggering. Raon, who had been watching him, eventually burrowed into Jaehwi’s arms just like a moment ago.

“You’ll fall over being stubborn.”

Even though he could have left Jaehwi alone whether he fell or not, Raon insisted on supporting him and took him all the way to the guest room.

“Ahh!”

Unlike his intention to free himself from Jaehwi’s arms and toss the stumbling Jaehwi onto the bed, Raon let out a short scream as he fell onto the bed together with Jaehwi.

But he soon laughed it off and tried to push away Jaehwi’s arms as he attempted to embrace him.

“Hey. Get a grip. We’re in the hotel now. I’m going to leave, so even if you can’t wash up, at least change your clothes before sleeping.”

Though he couldn’t imagine lying on a bed in outdoor clothes, it wasn’t his own bed, and they could ask for the bed sheets to be changed tomorrow, so Raon was being a bit more lenient with Jaehwi.

Unlike his attempt to push away Jaehwi’s arms and get up, Raon couldn’t shake off Jaehwi, who wrapped both arms around his waist, and continued his solitary struggle. When he finally managed to sit up, Jaehwi’s head was resting on his thigh.

He looked down at Jaehwi, who had his eyes tightly shut, and stroked his head.

“Min Jaehwi.”

“Hwi-ya~”

Raon was about to tell him to let go now, that he needed to leave, but hearing Jaehwi’s drawling voice, he smiled and touched Jaehwi’s ear. He had coldly corrected Aiden with his full name, but now he was telling Raon to call him Hwi-ya. How could a grown man be so cute?

“Is it noisy?”

After touching the cartilage of his handsome ear, when Raon firmly pressed the plump earlobe between his thumb and index finger, Jaehwi’s eyes slowly opened. Since he hadn’t meant to wake him, he quickly covered the ear with his palm, but Jaehwi didn’t close his eyes.

“I’ll stay until you fall asleep.”

“No.”

“Why? You have a Guide now. You should ask your Guide for things like this. Not me.”

“No.”

“What do you mean n-“

As Jaehwi pulled his waist closer and buried his face in Raon’s lower abdomen, Raon hastily inhaled. It was too close, even for closeness. With the sole determination not to harbor bad thoughts towards a drunk child, Raon mentally sang the national anthem while taking shallow breaths in and out.

Jaehwi’s breath spread softly over the thin layer of his shirt. Jaehwi’s arms, which had been wrapped around his waist, moved, and warm palms grabbed his waist. As his fingers moved slowly, Raon’s waist flesh was pressed and released repeatedly under those fingertips.

“Hwi-ya.”

Raon, who had been biting his upper and lower lips, called his name softly, sensing that staying like this would become awkward.

“Mm.”

Jaehwi’s response vibrated simultaneously against Raon’s thigh and lower abdomen.

“Get up, wash, and sleep. I need to go before it gets too late.”

It felt like if he indulged Jaehwi’s whining, he would end up stuck here. Then Jaehwi, who had been burying his face in Raon’s stomach, slowly rolled over, revealing his handsome face. Since Raon was looking down, their eyes naturally met.

“If you kiss me.”

Raon’s pupils trembled at Jaehwi’s words.

Whether he was serious or joking, Raon couldn’t gauge Jaehwi’s intentions, and the longer his response was delayed, the longer the awkward silence stretched.

Hesitating on something he should have simply taken as Jaehwi’s whining about not wanting to sleep alone might make it seem like he was contemplating, so Raon raised his hand and covered Jaehwi’s eyes.

“Min Jaehwi.”

“…”

This time, Jaehwi didn’t answer.

“If you keep playing these mischievous pranks, hyung won’t let it slide anymore. Once or twice is a joke, but beyond that is crossing the line. Don’t suddenly come to my office either. When it’s just the two of us, you can speak comfortably and joke around, but you shouldn’t do that when other people are around.”

Since he was covering Jaehwi’s eyes, Raon examined his face carefully while speaking.

This guy is handsome even with his eyes covered. His forehead is straight, his nose is high with a cute round tip, and his lips… He also has thick hair. He’s tall too. But his eyes are the prettiest—large with double eyelids, and above all, those large pupils that look like they captured pure darkness have a power that captivates people.

“Why?”

Raon’s lips curled up involuntarily at Jaehwi’s sullen tone.

“Because it’s social etiquette, our Jaehwi. People think you’re cool, quiet, and charismatic, but you’re actually like a big puppy. I want to be the only one who sees this side of you.”

“You want me to be a good child?”

“A good adult.”

“I’m not good.”

“That’s okay.”

“I’m serious. I’m not good. If you knew me, you’d run away.”

“Why would I run away?”

“Help me stay as a good adult.”

He had just told him not to joke around, but immediately Jaehwi was picking up on his words and dragging them out. If this continued, it seemed like Raon would fall for Jaehwi’s tricks and end up sleeping here.

“That’s enough now. Time for the good adult to go to sleep.”

Raon leaned forward and kissed the back of his own hand that was covering Jaehwi’s eyes.

“What the!”

“A goodnight kiss.”

Jaehwi grabbed Raon’s wrist, which seemed like it would break if squeezed too hard, and applied a little force to remove Raon’s hand from his eyes. This stupid Guide clearly didn’t realize that such a hand couldn’t completely block his vision. So he probably didn’t know that he had been intensely examining his face while chewing on his lower lip. Or what expression he had made. In the end, Raon’s lips had landed on the back of his own hand, but his gaze had been directed at Jaehwi’s lips.

“The goodnight kiss should be for me, not for yourself. You did it wrong, so do it again.”

“Good adults can sleep well without such things.”

As Raon struggled to free his captured wrist, Jaehwi sat up. And while Raon was concentrating on gaining freedom for his wrist, with slight tension in his lips, Jaehwi pressed his own mouth against those lips.

“Hey!”

Why was he so surprised that he opened his eyes wide like a rabbit and yelled? After the brief kiss that was like a stolen kiss, Jaehwi got off the bed, and Raon, whose wrist was still held, also stood up. Leading Raon, who followed wherever he walked, Jaehwi headed for the door and put on his shoes, and Raon did the same.

After leaving the room and taking Raon to the elevator, Jaehwi pressed the elevator button.

“Go. Before the bad adult comes out.”

“What?”

Seeing Raon’s expression of disbelief, Jaehwi’s heart fluttered.

“Do you want me to tell you what I’m thinking?”

Seeing Raon looking straight at him with those large eyes, nodding slightly as if asking him to speak quickly, the emotions Jaehwi had been suppressing exploded.

“I want to strip Kang Raon naked and have you beneath me. I want to hold you, kiss you, devour you from head to toe. Even if you say no, I want to force a bond and make you my Guide, make you look only at me, but that can’t happen, right? So leave when I let you go. And don’t get involved in my business anymore.”

Jaehwi firmly gripped Raon’s wrist, which he didn’t want to release until the very end, then let go. Even though the elevator hadn’t arrived yet, he turned around. Until just now, some part of his body had been in contact with Raon. His world, which had become quiet, suddenly became violently tumultuous again. The further he got from Raon, Jaehwi raised his hand to rub his own lips, feeling the weight of his reality settling in.

It felt like the moist, warm, and soft sensation of Raon’s lips was still there, but his head was filled with all kinds of noise, and the splitting headache had started again. Jaehwi slowly walked into the pain that seemed like it would become familiar, yet never did.

The more beautiful and sweet heaven was, the more miserable and bitter hell became. Having known the taste of heaven, he learned the sense of loss, and having known happiness, his unhappiness grew even greater. Having failed to control his impulses and having clearly revealed his dirty inner thoughts, he would no longer experience the luxurious experience of traversing heaven.

Whether he liked it or not, he should accept the guidance of guides and devote himself to working for Jaehwi’s peaceful and safe life. It was much better now than the 10 years when he couldn’t see Raon even though he wanted to. Being part of his center meant he could see him when he wanted to. Even if he couldn’t touch him.

However, when Jaehwi reached the hotel room door and grabbed the doorknob, he couldn’t bring himself to open it. Even though the plush carpet in the hotel corridor concealed footsteps, it couldn’t hide Raon’s footsteps approaching him. Raon was narrowing the distance between them with quick steps.

Why do you come back even when I let you go?

“Move aside.”

You come back just to say that? As he stood still in front of the door, Raon pushed him with his body, opened the door, and quickly went inside.

“Aren’t you coming in?”

Jaehwi, unable to read the intentions of Raon, who brazenly told him to hurry up and come in, eventually had to go inside.

“I don’t want to drive at night.”

“Should I call you a chauffeur? Or Jay?”

“No.”

“I was the one who drank. You didn’t drink a single drop, hyung, so you can’t make excuses like not remembering what I said because I was drunk, or misheard.”

Jaehwi raised his hand to rub his face as his headache worsened and ended up letting out a long sigh.

“My condition is you, hyung. I just need you.” S-class esper Jaehwi reappears after 10 years and reunites with Raon. He refuses to accept any guide except Raon—and doesn’t want anyone else either. But Raon, a C-class guide who sees himself as inadequate, keeps rejecting him. Then Raon encounters Jaehwi going berserk in a dungeon. He does everything he can to guide him, but ends up losing consciousness. When he opens his eyes, Raon has regressed to the day they reunited…?! *** “Please answer me. I feel like I need to hear it today. You want someone young and obedient who listens well, right? Someone who does as they’re told—that’s a given.” Unable to avoid his gaze, Raon chose to close his eyes instead. Jaehwi seemed just as confused as he was. His voice was infinitely cold one moment, then warm the next, as if it had never been otherwise. Sharp informal speech that cut into his chest would suddenly soften into formal speech, gentle as a spring breeze. “That’s right.” Despite his jumbled thoughts, his mouth moved on its own. “Will you punish me if I’m a bad boy?” A pleasant laugh, hot breath against his ear. Jaehwi’s lips brushed Raon’s earlobe as he whispered low. Those heated lips touched the earlobe, then continued down to his exposed neckline as Raon tilted his head back. “I will punish you.” Raon slowly raised his hand from where it had been resting. It wandered uncertainly before finding the collar of Jaehwi’s gown. His hand opened, palm pressing against Jaehwi’s chest. Weakly, Raon tried to push him away. “Then I’ll take my punishment until your anger subsides.”
