FLEX, Idol Manager 10

# Chapter 10

“So what should I do now? Where is the company located?”

He looked at the business card, but it didn’t show the company address.

“Wait, Grand Tamer, isn’t that place… It seems like a Seyoung Group subsidiary. Despite getting full support from Seyoung Group and being secretly pushed hard, they’re growing like shit… Ah. I’m sorry. I’ll watch my mouth.”

“Well. It’s not wrong, but that doesn’t mean you can say whatever comes to mind, so please be more careful from now on.”

“Yes.”

Han Sijin held the business card preciously and looked at it closely.

It seemed he couldn’t stop smiling just from looking at the business card.

“So hyung will manage us? How many members are there? You’re not trying to debut me as a solo artist, but you’re creating a boy group, right? Have you met the other guys? Am I the first one by any chance?”

He seemed to have a lot of questions, as they continued for a while.

I gave him a general overview.

As we walked together, I thought it would be better to go into a quiet café to talk.

There was still quite a lot to discuss.

* * *

The café that Han Sijin recommended was filled with the smell of garlic bread.

“They bake the bread themselves and it’s delicious. Sometimes they give it out as service, and I heard many people come here just for the bread.”

“Isn’t this in competition with Han Sijin-ssi’s place?”

“Yes, it is. But since we came in later, we don’t particularly resent this place. They probably suffered a lot because of us.”

After chatting calmly, we returned to business talk.

Rather than discussing other members, I explained what support would be provided to Han Sijin from now on.

And I told him what process he would go through until debut.

“You shouldn’t think it’s over just because you sign a contract now. This is just the beginning. It’s not even a proper beginning, I’d say.”

“Yes, I know. Signing a contract doesn’t guarantee debut, and even if I do debut, there’s no guarantee things will go well.”

“Yes, that’s right. I’m glad you understand so well.”

“But hyung, you’re unusual. Other places don’t usually tell you these things. They just say nice things. They say you can do well and debut is certain, so don’t worry, preventing you from objectively facing reality.”

“I don’t want to do that.”

Han Sijin smiled brightly.

He seemed to like what I said.

“But when should I start going to the company?”

“It would be better to start as soon as possible, right? You have a lot to learn. Since there are trainers at the company, it would be good to come in as soon as possible and start adapting. But you have your current job, so it might be hard to sort it out right away?”

“No. If I’m going to do it, I might as well do it properly. I can’t keep wasting time. I think I’ll go all-in this time. If I try my best and still fail, then this probably isn’t my path.”

I didn’t expect to hear such words from Han Sijin; it was unexpected.

“But…”

“Yes?”

“Han Sijin-ssi wasn’t originally like this. It seems a bit strange that you’re suddenly acting this way.”

“Why are you being so distant? I’m a thoughtful guy too.”

Seeing him get upset, it seemed like he was not unaware of how he had been living.

“But how long are you going to call me Han Sijin-ssi? Just be comfortable. Comfortable. Try saying, ‘Sijin-ah’ once.”

“I’ll pass.”

I was glad the conversation was going better than expected.

Since that’s also a skill, I felt good, thinking I would have something to say in front of hyung.

Noticing that I was trying to end the conversation, Han Sijin anxiously asked more questions.

Thinking he would have a lot of questions, I answered them.

“Hyung is the manager, right?”

He repeated that question several times.

“Why? Are you worried?”

“No. It’s not that.”

“You can be honest. This kind of work might be better handled by more experienced people.”

“No, that’s not it, so you don’t have to think that way. Hyung will definitely do it. Let’s even put it in the contract. That hyung will be the manager.”

“But our company has many good managers. Why don’t you decide after seeing them?”

I said something I didn’t mean, but thankfully, Han Sijin immediately frowned and shook his head.

“No. I like hyung. You’re the one who remembered me and came all this way, right? I know what kind of person I am. I act tough because I know my flaws and weaknesses and don’t want to get hurt. So someone like me needs someone like hyung who will coddle me. You will, right?”

“…What?”

“Coddling.”

Who could have imagined this guy sitting with his chin propped up, giving a heart-damaging look while saying such things?

“Codd…how do you coddle?”

“You just pat my butt saying ‘well done, well done.’ Given our physiques, I should probably be the one patting your butt though. Hyung, how old are you? Are you really older than me? Are you actually younger than me?”

“What on earth makes you think that?”

True, I rarely got treated according to my actual age anywhere.

But hearing such words even from this young kid made me flare up because I wasn’t pleased, and he clapped his hands, laughing as if he found that amusing.

Somehow feeling like I’d been played by Han Sijin, I sighed and blew away the hair falling over my forehead, and Han Sijin propped his chin again and looked at me.

“Fucking handsome. Hyung, you should be an idol. What’s stopping you? Hyung, debut with me. Then I’ll really zip up my mouth tight, not talk nonsense, and do extremely well.”

Han Sijin’s problem wasn’t simply with his mouth.

He was just a total disaster.

I thought the problem was words coming out without passing through his brain, but it might also be that his way of thinking was originally unique.

“Hyung. Don’t keep saying ‘Han Sijin-ssi’ which makes it feel distant, try saying ‘Sijin-ah.’ Come on. Si-jin-ah.”

He squinted his eyes and demonstrated as if feeding something into my mouth.

“Take it easy. I’m older than Sijin-ssi, and even if I become Sijin-ssi’s manager, I’m the type who thinks it’s better to maintain a certain distance when working.”

When I spoke, Han Sijin made a fuss.

“Ah! This won’t do? But I’m still so happy. I think I’d jump right up even if I was sleeping when hyung wakes me. Aah. Why am I like this? This isn’t my usual character, getting all excited over someone like this.”

Yet his expression showed that he absolutely couldn’t control the laughter leaking from the corners of his mouth.

I also felt relieved because Han Sijin was being so receptive.

During that time, I suddenly got a message from hyung.

My smartphone was beside me, and I slightly opened the screen thinking I would apologize and take the call if it was urgent.

“…!!”

Han Sijin seemed to have naturally looked at my screen, and our eyes met simultaneously in the air.

This guy!!

How could this guy play me like this?!!!

In the chat window was a photo of me wearing a crop top at the department store.

‘Wow, this crazy…!!’

I looked at Han Sijin with a flushed face.

It was embarrassing to have shown such a photo, but I was worried that Han Sijin would think strangely of me.

“No, this… you see, what happened was…!! My hyung bastard… this crazy guy said let’s make this a trend together… he has a belly so he couldn’t try it on yet, so he asked me to try it on just once… saying he’d stick the photo on the fridge and diet…”

Why is sweat flowing from my eyes?

“Wow. You’re really handsome. Hyung, can’t you send me this photo? I want to show it off.”

“No way!”

“Aah, why not? Then is it okay if we take a photo together? That’s okay, right?”

Well, that wouldn’t be a problem.

It would be good for me too if I could erase the photo he just saw from Han Sijin’s mind.

“No, hyung. Hyung should stay still. Since hyung has a small head, I’m going to take it from a bit behind, so hyung shouldn’t follow.”

After taking photos from various angles, the guy looked at them with satisfaction.

“Wow. No one will believe this is a photo of my manager. They’ll probably think I’ve already joined an agency.”

He excitedly looked at the photos for a long time.

“No one will believe it. Haah. I can’t believe this is happening to me. Hyung, I want to keep talking but I think I should go now. Can I sign the contract at the company? I’d like to sign the contract right here, but I think I’ll get scolded if I say I signed a contract alone without telling the adults.”

Han Sijin seemed eager to quickly tell his family about getting a contract and get their permission.

“Sure, that’s fine.”

“Thank you, hyung. I’ll go to the company. Get home safely. Watch out for motorcycles.”

Then he waved his hands and completely disappeared.

Fortunately, things seemed to have gone well from the start.

By the way.

I need to catch and punish Kang Seungwon first.

What on earth was he thinking!

* * *

Thinking he’d be dead if I caught him, I went to the company and spotted the back of Kang Seungwon’s head from a distance.

That bastard.

He’s dead.

I don’t care if he’s my hyung or whatever.
