# Chapter 46
Iyeon awkwardly moved his field of vision to look around the game world. There were a few other characters in the beginner field where he was, but nobody was near the monster that Iyeon had been targeting. The culprit seemed to be a mage like FamilyGloryDriedPollock.
[General]FamilyGloryDriedPollock: Who are you?
He tried typing in chat, but there was no response. Iyeon slightly furrowed his brow.
After that, a silent battle of patience broke out with someone he didn’t even know. As it went on, his competitive spirit grew, and he didn’t even tell Hyegang who was sitting beside him.
He’d turn his body and target monsters on the opposite side, pretend to cast spells then quickly switch targets, or continuously target multiple monsters in succession like spinning a roulette wheel. Unintentionally, Iyeon’s game control improved dramatically.
Then, taking advantage of a moment when his opponent wasn’t paying attention, FamilyGloryDriedPollock finally succeeded in killing one of the Leaf monsters. A cheerful notification sound played along with a window announcing the quest had been completed.
“Wow.”
He wasn’t sure why this made him so happy. As Iyeon couldn’t hide his elation at this strange sense of accomplishment, Hyegang glanced over at him.
“What’s up? Oh, you’re still only level 4?”
“A lot happened.”
“Huh?”
When he recounted his great adventure to the confused Hyegang, Hyegang frowned as if he understood.
“There are still assholes who mess with newbies?”
“Newbies?”
“That’s what we call beginners like you, hyung. Wait a second.”
Shortly after, a character wearing brilliantly dazzling clothes approached FamilyGloryDriedPollock.
“Jea?”
“It’s me.”
The slender female character with the nickname “Jea” floating above her head was wearing glossy silk clothes and carrying a huge greatsword on her back. She looked so magnificent and beautiful compared to FamilyGloryDriedPollock, who was wearing shabby, dull green cloth wrapped around him carelessly, that they seemed like different species.
“Wow, I want to wear clothes like that too.”
“This is all money.”
“Expensive?”
“Yeah.”
Well, in that case… Iyeon quickly gave up on the idea, and Hyegang explained.
“There are people who sometimes bully beginners like what happened to you, hyung. Usually they do it as a joke, but where… Huh?”
Hyegang, who had opened the field user information window, abruptly stopped speaking. His voice sounded a bit taken aback.
“It’s Gwak Cheolsik?”
“Do you know him?”
“Well, no… Actually, I do know of him. He’s famous for being a bad-mannered thug called Gwak Cheolsik, but he’s in the top rankings on the server so most people can’t touch him. His specs are good because he’s dumped tons of money into all his gear. Look, can you see?”
Where Hyegang pointed his finger, the name “Gwak Cheolsik” was written.
“That’s strange. He’s the only max-level player here, but he’s not the type to mess around in a place like this…”
“Really? Maybe he was bored?”
Iyeon, who didn’t know much about the game ecosystem, tilted his head in confusion. Hyegang swiveled the camera view around before stopping.
“Here he is, Gwak Cheolsik.”
On the game screen, there was a character holding a long staff and wearing a cloth outfit mixed with black and red colors, cleverly hidden behind a tree. The name “Gwak Cheolsik” was faintly visible above his head.
“So that’s where he was…”
There was a reason Iyeon hadn’t found him. While Iyeon was craning his neck to see Gwak Cheolsik’s character, Hyegang manipulated Jea. Jea moved briefly, then suddenly charged forward violently.
What she slammed with her greatsword was Gwak Cheolsik’s head.
“W-what are you doing?”
A flurry of attacks followed like flowing water. Gwak Cheolsik was instantly knocked out from behind the tree, fell down, and the green bar under his nickname began to shorten frantically.
“How dare you mess with our precious newbie?”
Looking closer, Hyegang’s face was fierce. But wait, he just annoyed me a bit, he didn’t actually kill me… Iyeon was surprised and tried to stop him.
“What are you doing? Didn’t you say he’s strong?”
“I’m strong too. I dumped a ton of my salary into this.”
That’s something to brag about?
“There is a bit of a spec gap because I can’t keep up with his enhancement speed, since he’s probably some rich heir…”
Hyegang pulled up the corner of his mouth crookedly and moved his fingers, making Jea’s movements even more dazzling.
“But this much can be covered with skill.”
Whatever it was, it looked cool.
Gwak Cheolsik, who had been continuously hit while in a stunned state, moved a bit away from Jea as if using some kind of short-distance teleportation. Then, the large staff that Gwak Cheolsik was holding began to glow red, and lasers were fired in succession. It must have been a powerful attack as Jea’s health significantly decreased.
“Is it okay to fight like this?”
“Anyway, our guild and their guild don’t get along. Thinking about how those bastards messed with us recently, this is good.”
So they fight intensely in games too. Iyeon, who was now watching with both hands off the keyboard, blinked as he saw someone running from far across the map. They were dressed more like Jea or Gwak Cheolsik rather than FamilyGloryDriedPollock.
Sure enough, the new character charged straight at Jea.
“Damn, these bastards!”
Hyegang shouted angrily and furiously typed on the keyboard. Iyeon, who had never seen Hyegang this angry before, looked at him with a startled face.
The aggressive typing seemed to be a call for support, as soon several more players appeared in the field. In response, Gwak Cheolsik’s guild members also showed up, then more of Jea’s guild members appeared…
By the time Iyeon realized what was happening, the situation had escalated into a large-scale brawl.
“Uh…”
FamilyGloryDriedPollock was only level 4, but since he hadn’t finished the tutorial, the PvP function that allows attacking other players wasn’t activated yet, so he could just stand there dumbfounded in the middle of the sudden war. The surroundings were filled with flashing skill effects, and there were so many people that it was impossible to tell who was who. It was complete chaos.
And as always in places like this, chat aggression was also thriving.
[General]Duduri: Aren’t you ashamed attacking newbies with that gear, Cheolsik? lol
[General]SecretJudaeng: Excuse me, why do you care so much about other people’s business? lol With that rank, you stick your nose into everything, you’d get hit well in YOLO haha
[General]pomo: Judaeng, your gear is a mess and your hands are retarded so you only get your ass kicked haha
[General]SecretJudaeng: Shut up if you’ve never done Perfect Clear
[General]Sorbet: I’m sick of that Perfect Clear pride ㅠㅠ What’s so proud about a Perfect Clear achieved by paying for gear
[General]JejuRedPig: If you’re jealous, do Perfect Clear too haha Oh, you don’t have money?
Since there were so many people, the chat scrolled up quickly even with just one message from each person. Seems like you need to be good at cursing to play games… Unaware that the newcomer at the center of the conflict was learning strange prejudices, the two guilds fought intensely.
Even after ten minutes, the situation showed no signs of calming down but rather became more heated.
[General]Sorbet: You punch our newbie first and then act crazy lol You thugs are on another level
[General]Jea: Why are you being nasty to my small and cute newbie? ㅠ
Lee Hyegang… his typing style was quite like an internet thug.
[General]JejuRedPig: Who the hell hit who? Just honestly say you wanted to fight, damn it
[General]Duduri: What are you saying? Ask your Cheolsik
Then, for the first time, Gwak Cheolsik’s chat appeared.
[General]GwakCheolsik: If I attacked you, at least don’t be unfair
[General]GwakCheolsik: Why are you all being so ridiculous
Gwak Cheolsik… so he was someone who could talk. But why did he stay quiet earlier when I asked? Iyeon belatedly felt a surge of indignation.
[General]SecretJudaeng: lolololol Did you hear that? Everyone bow your heads and apologize
[General]SecretJudaeng: Falsely accused an innocent person
[General]Jea: lololol???? You believe that? Watch out for scams
[General]GwakCheolsik: Pollock-nim
[General]GwakCheolsik: You tell them
[General]GwakCheolsik: Did I hit you? Or even go near you?
The surroundings grew quiet at Gwak Cheolsik’s targeting.
“This bastard is asking questions in a clever way… Hyung, you can just ignore him. He’s just trying to pick a fight by finding fault.”
“Fight? Is this person picking a fight with me now?”
“Something like that.”
At Hyegang’s words, Iyeon nodded. His typing movements were calm. After a moment, the chat from FamilyGloryDriedPollock, standing alone in the middle of the field, appeared.
[General]FamilyGloryDriedPollock: Losing to a level 4 in mob hunting and then hiding behind max level bullying haha
[General]GwakCheolsik: ?
[General]GwakCheolsik: What did you just say?
[General]FamilyGloryDriedPollock: Just looking at you, I can see a trash player having a meltdown lol
[General]GwakCheolsik: Are you crazy or something
