Understanding the Human Rights of Guides 1.26

Amid ragged, panting breaths — he had bitten down and sucked so relentlessly that one entire areola was soaked through and swollen, standing out flushed against the skin. But Rodeo gave him not a moment’s rest. Each time he pressed his lips to the swollen flesh and everything surrounding it without exception, the large man trembled in fine shivers, barely managing to push out each breath — and Rodeo only stared at him, silent and intent. Then, slowly, that unwavering gaze drifted downward toward Chalice’s lower half.

Unaware that the ability he had used had already dissipated, Chalice was gasping for breath, his lower body squirming restlessly — pressing and grinding against Rodeo’s.

Without a moment of hesitation, a hand reached out and slipped into the back of Chalice’s pants. With every stroke that swept from the side of his waist, up his back, down to his hips — Chalice’s body jolted and shuddered. What came out of his mouth and what his body was doing were now strikingly, visibly at odds.

“S… stop. The stability level has come down now. So now just— ngh, sto—”

“You’re the one who rubbed up against me asking to be touched.”

When Chalice barely managed to extend an arm and push at Rodeo’s collarbone, Rodeo caught the hand and pulled it down, pressing it against his inner thigh. Chalice registered that what filled his pants taut was not the muscle of a thigh but his erect cock — and he hurriedly looked away, flustered — yet he couldn’t pull his own hand free from the grip that was rubbing it up and down over the fabric.

“Ah… no, this isn’t — that’s not — ah, wait — w-wait, ugh—”

Rodeo, as though he couldn’t hear Chalice’s voice at all, hoisted him up bodily and shifted to the backseat, stepping on the reclined passenger seat backrest with his knee. The solid weight of him was dragged along by a force that may have been physical strength or an ability — and then slowly, his back came to rest against the leather seat. Before there was any time to process the situation, the sound of a zipper pulling down filled the brief silence.

It took no time at all for Rodeo’s face to reach Chalice’s now-exposed lower half. Urgent hands pushed through the waistband and tugged his briefs partway down — and a thick tongue dragged upward from the base of his cock. At the wet, sticky sensation creeping all the way up to below his navel, Chalice startled violently and sucked in a sharp breath.

The hitching breaths from above scattered — and as the flinching of his body grew gradually more pronounced, Rodeo looked up with a dazed expression, and spoke with a quiet laugh.

“Your pants are thin… the front was already wet.”

The man gripped by the waist flushed deeply. By now it wasn’t just his ears — his nape and chest were burning hot as well. Rodeo yanked Chalice’s pants and briefs down to below his hips in one go, grabbed those long legs with both hands, and lifted them clean off the seat.

Folded up with his backside completely exposed, Chalice tried to push Rodeo off again and again — but his drained hands couldn’t reach past his own lower body. With the backs of his knees held firm in Rodeo’s grip, the powerful frame could do little more than helplessly kick its legs in the air.

Rodeo, unbothered by the flailing, brought his lower body flush against Chalice’s bare skin. Their bodies were pressed tightly together — but Rodeo still had his pants on — and the disorienting feel of unfamiliar fabric left Chalice frantically trying to push himself upright. Between Chalice’s bent legs, over his trembling knees — their eyes met.

Those eyes, clouded as though reason had left them, didn’t look like the Rodeo Chalice knew — no matter how he looked.

He was clearly meant to be able to physically overpower him — and yet this man, who despite all his struggling had been held completely immobile by the ability — irrationally, inexplicably, for just a moment, frightened him. With a tangle of emotions churning through him, Chalice squeezed his eyes shut — and Rodeo simply watched him in quiet silence.

A small exhale.

When the movement that had been pressing against him went still, Chalice cautiously opened his eyes — and Rodeo slipped a hand beneath his back, gently lifted him upright, and settled him onto his lap. The broad frame lurched through the air, the fabric of the shirt flapping loosely.

“…Who told you to go around kissing Espers like you didn’t know they were dangerous?”

Sitting half-naked and adrift on top of Rodeo, Chalice curled forward, gripping the fabric of Rodeo’s clothes in thick hands. It seemed like he was trying to cover his exposed body. The back of his head, visible from above as he hunched like a shrimp, was quite a mess.

He always kept it so neatly…

The hand that had been loosely wrapped around Chalice’s back with a closed fist rose carefully and smoothed out his hair. At the change in the touch, Chalice glanced up briefly — and once his hair was roughly put back in order, Rodeo let his gaze drift naturally downward, only to have it stop at the pale nape just beneath.

The front of the shirt had been torn open carelessly — but from behind, he looked exactly as he had when they’d left together that morning: a clean suit. Granted, the sight of the torn shirt fabric hanging in tatters was impossible to miss — but seen from above, it somehow felt as though Chalice, exactly as he was, had clung to him and buried himself against him. Rodeo leaned down and pressed his lips to that thick nape.

“…Now stop. You’ve calmed down.”

“I haven’t calmed down. I’m still hard.”

Rodeo pulled the Chalice who was trying to wrap things up with a composed, low voice closer — and rolled his hips slowly, deliberately. Still bare-assed against Rodeo’s waistband, with the very evident size of him making itself known, Chalice gripped the hem of Rodeo’s clothes with an extra-tight fist and snapped back in a way that was quite unlike him.

“I meant the seizure symptoms you had earlier! You’re fine now.”

“…I’m honestly not sure. I was already worked up then and I’m still worked up now, so it’s hard to tell the difference—”

“Stop playing around…!”

Rodeo had been wearing an expression of unconvinced deliberation — and then his fingertips gently tilted Chalice’s head toward him. He drew that hunched upper body upright, then pushed his face close enough for their noses to nearly touch.

“Hey, Chalice… if you finish what you started earlier — I’ll stop.”

“…Finish what I started.”

“The kiss.”

Flustered color rushed back across Chalice’s face, and the arms that had been hanging limply came up and covered his mouth. Whatever sport he did had built forearms solid enough that not just his lips but his whole face was barely visible past them. Given the body he had — and claiming to be past forty, no less — to be stingy about a mere kiss was almost worth teasing him over — except the flashes of his face that peeked through were visibly, ripely red.

“Or are you going to give me a handjob instead?”

“…A hand, what?”

“Ah, right — you said I looked thirteen. Then Chalice is going to get arrested…”

At the silly joke, Chalice narrowed his eyes with a look that suggested a scolding was coming — but then let out a breath and answered with an expression that was slightly more at ease.

“A kiss or a hand… job — either way you’re getting arrested, aren’t you.”

“At least a kiss has the justification of being Guiding. Back in our day, kiss Guiding was something we did even as teenagers…”

“……”

“If you want neither — I’ll just take care of it myself—”

“Alright. Keep your eyes closed.”

As Rodeo shifted as if to change positions, Chalice grabbed him by the collar and said it. The instruction to keep his eyes closed made Rodeo feel something oddly warm — and he let out a small snicker, then obediently closed his eyes. Chalice exhaled low, then carefully brought his lips to Rodeo’s.

With the abnormal euphoria of the immediate aftermath settling — Rodeo’s mind, slowly working his tongue through the kiss, turned over and over in complicated thought. Setting aside entirely the fact that none of this had been anticipated — the most surprising and confusing thing, by far, was that Chalice was remarkably, undeniably clumsy at kissing.

“Mm… mmh…”

Every time Rodeo persistently swept the roof of his mouth, his tongue went rigid and stiff, not knowing what to do with itself — and Chalice would turn his head away and exhale. Even when Rodeo gently brought that head back and moved in slow, butterfly kisses as if to soothe him, Chalice kept rolling his eyes downward, straining his leg muscles in an attempt to pull his lower body apart from Rodeo’s. Perhaps it was the size of him — every time Chalice did that, even the smallest shift sent his lips pulling away, and Rodeo couldn’t tell whether he was kissing him or headbutting him.

“…Your manners. Seriously.”

“…Ngh…”

As if dissatisfied, Rodeo — the hand that had been doing nothing but holding Chalice — slipped it inside his suit jacket. At the sensation climbing up the small of his back, Chalice visibly shuddered and twisted his body — and even as Rodeo, surprised in turn, did nothing but stroke his back gently, Chalice kept tensing his legs as if he was about to spring off the seat at any moment. Rodeo, who had been thoroughly winding his tongue around Chalice’s with a wet sound, felt the restlessness below finally go still — and carefully pulled his lips away, eyeing him with dissatisfied eyes.

“…You could’ve just done non-contact Guiding if you hated this kind of thing.”

“Haah…”

Does he really hate it that much — he was about to say it in the same dismissive tone as before and look at his face — but instead, this time, his eyes were completely, deeply hazed over.

“…A-are you alright?”

The thighs that had kept pulling away were now folded at an undignified angle — drained of strength — and the skin around his lips had grown wet and soft, yet he hadn’t even managed to wipe his mouth, wearing an expression that was difficult to read. Whether breathing had truly been difficult — the panting breaths kept echoing through the quiet car.

“……”

“……”

Rodeo quickly gathered Chalice’s legs to one side and held him there, watching with concern. Alarmed by his body temperature, which had risen quite significantly, Rodeo looked him over carefully — the neck littered with red marks, the swollen, raw nipples and flushed areolae were, needless to say, a mess.

His lower half was still exposed from where his clothes had been pulled off and shoved aside — and from the tip of Chalice’s cock, a long trail of clear, sticky fluid ran all the way to the inside of his underwear.

At that, Rodeo felt the back of his own neck burn, and snapped his head up. He’d gone through enough experiences like this that he shouldn’t be affected — and yet with him, he didn’t know what to do with himself, and threw his gaze out the window at nothing in particular. Chalice was still pushing out shallow, heated breaths.

“Was it that you cultivated your non-contact Guiding because you couldn’t kiss — or did you get so good at non-contact Guiding that your kissing went to ruin?”

Rodeo raised his voice and said whatever came to mind, intending to cool his head — to suppress his own center hardening back up. Chalice, who appeared to have recovered his senses even if his body was still unsteady, answered without thinking much of it.

“I’m good at non-contact Guiding too… and I’m also strong, so…?”

“…What does that even mean…”

Chalice laughed weakly — and then in an instant his expression went rigid, and he jolted upright, pulling his pants back up. His face was pale, while the tips of his ears were bright red. As he moved about in a fluster, Rodeo’s head turned by reflex, and through the back of Chalice’s dark head, his side profile flashed into view briefly. Against the pale face, his already dark eyebrows stood out sharply.

“…This… this sort of thing, hasn’t happened much. I only did Guiding under facility supervision, and… anyone who came at me like th-this, I’d just throw over my shoulder or take down…”

“…If we hadn’t been in a car, I would have been in serious trouble.”

Rodeo said it in a slightly petulant tone without meeting his eyes. Half joking, half sincere. It was precisely because they’d been alone in an enclosed space that using his ability had worked — if this had happened somewhere others could have found them, he’d have been dragged out and thoroughly beaten by Chalice in the same motion, without a doubt.

“I don’t mean every time. As a Guide, to some extent, I just… went along with what they wanted…”

“…What did you say?”

Esper Rodeo wakes up in a future ten years ahead due to a sudden time warp accident. Surprisingly, the Espers — who had always been at the very bottom of the food chain — had risen to the top of the organization and were enjoying power, thanks to the success of the Esper Liberation Movement. And Rodeo comes to learn that Chalice, the Guide who was both his first love and his rival — "the Hero of the Organization" — had been enduring years of painful guiding exploitation. Even now, whenever they come face to face, they're quick to snarl at each other — yet for some reason, Rodeo finds himself proposing that Chalice register as his exclusive Guide… *** —Beep— At that moment, Chalice's Decorker sounded once again. In an instant, his body buckled as though he was about to collapse, and the force of it pushed the front door shut. Rodeo reflexively caught him and pulled him close, and Chalice, hit by a wave of dizziness that swept over his vision, grabbed onto whatever his hands could reach — Rodeo's back and the hem of his clothes. For a long while, Chalice's ragged breathing continued without pause, his hot breath striking against Rodeo's ear again and again — until, at last, it began to quiet. "Why on earth do you live like this?" "…Don't cross the line. Shut that mouth while I'm still being patient." "Then let me rephrase. Why did you stand by and let the world become like this?" Chalice's shoulders rose and fell in a slight shrug. Rodeo looked as though he had sunk into thought — then shook his own head, as if irritated. "If you have something to ask of me, then ask." Rodeo squeezed his eyes shut, then opened them, and looked at Chalice. "Go ahead and say it. Isn't there something I can help you with?" Chalice's face froze in an instant. It was the very face Rodeo knew. The eyes of a demon regarding its enemies on the battlefield. Irises cold as ice, and within them — a single hawk, targeting only its prey. A coldness that permitted not a single muscle in his face to move. Rodeo's own body stiffened as though he himself had become that prey — and yet, strangely, what he felt was something closer to relief. Yes. This was Chalice. Not that unrecognizable something, muffled and crumbling like a tiger with its teeth pulled — but the expression of one looking down from high above. This was him.
