“I verbally explained it to you during that meeting, but I didn’t provide you with the materials. This is an easy-to-read summary of the rules you both need to follow on set.”
“……”
“I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but you’re aware of the voting that’s been going up on SNS lately, right? The response has been better than expected, so the pre-release program will probably start without taking too long. Of course, it’ll take some time to organize and finalize everything.”
“……”
“For now, filming is scheduled within the next two months.”
Printed papers with the program title prominently displayed were handed to each of them. Jiseo quietly read through the rules again with his eyes.
「1. Cast members Yoo Jiseo and Joo Yeongwon have been confirmed to appear in <Would You Like to Get Close?>, the pre-release program for <Would You Like to Date?>, and will spend their daily lives in the dormitory together with other people.
- Please follow the basic rules below regarding the dormitory, and unauthorized departures from the filming location outside of scheduled activities are prohibited.
- After filming the pre-release program and before entering filming for the main program, it’s possible to discuss unexpected situations, so please participate without burden.」
“Those are the basic rules. Since there’s no set script and things will flow naturally, please feel free to approach the filming.”
“……”
“This applies to everyone else too, but internally we have particularly high expectations for you two. That said, please don’t feel too much pressure—just enjoy it in line with the program’s concept and have fun.”
“……”
“Naturally, you can’t appear together, so Jiseo, it would probably be better if you’re inserted last. Once all the cast members are gathered, we’ll have you enter after a brief introduction.”
“Will you contact me when I should be on standby?”
“Yes. We’ll proceed that way. Then I’ll see you on filming day. Please familiarize yourself well with the rules.”
“……”
“As a rule, the production staff won’t intervene as much as possible, so things will proceed naturally as they unfold, and after editing, the broadcast will air that way too. We’ll treat everyone the same, so don’t worry about that.”
“We look forward to working with you.”
Watching the grinning PD, Jiseo instead harbored concerns about what if it’s not fun? If he acted like he was now, well, all the attention would be directed at Yeongwon.
“Hyung, I mean— Didn’t you say you’d be busy until moving into the dormitory?”
From the moment everyone around them had left, Yeongwon once again called Jiseo by the title containing his own personal assertion.
Since there were no watching eyes, Yeongwon started treating him like a child again. The visible change was so pronounced that Jiseo, quietly swallowing his laughter, answered nonchalantly.
“My schedule is tight so I probably won’t have much time, but why? Want to see my face like usual until filming? That’s fine.”
“No, that’s not it—I’ll probably be busy too.”
“Did you book a lot of schedules?”
“Not that kind of busy—I’m going to cut and dye my hair. You’re going to do your own styling and dress yourself during filming, right?”
“I have to. We’re living together without managers or stylist teams.”
“At least we should be a Dutch pace. You and me.”
“Dutch, what? What does that mean?”
“I want our faces to go well together. I just want to look pretty.”
Watching Yeongwon bring up the most ridiculous thing he’d ever heard, Jiseo let out a chuckle. Jiseo had always thought that Yeongwon’s face was outstanding even compared to other celebrities.
It was rare for an adolescent boy’s face to be this clean like white jade. Not only his skin, but his features were also prettily and neatly arranged.
Even in this industry, Yeongwon had looks that ranked among the best. Managing them would make him look even better, but the more he looked, the more he thought that natural was best.
“Do whatever you want. What are you going to do?”
“These days they diagnose what suits you well and do it accordingly. I’m going to get that done.”
“Then should we meet once you’ve changed? Let me see how well you’ve dressed yourself up.”
“No. I’m going to put effort into my face, so see it during filming.”
“If you’re going to say it out loud like that, just hold back.”
“That’s the first start of interest. Giving me your attention first, not someone else.”
Yeongwon seemed to want so much. Furthermore, it seemed he wanted to completely capture Jiseo’s gaze.
Honestly, how much could he really change anyway? he thought. Maybe because he’d seen his face so much, he could naturally imagine it either way.
Just as he was lost in such trivial thoughts, Yeongwon’s voice could be heard.
“Let’s try not contacting each other frequently until filming so we can be immersed.”
“……”
“This might really be the last time, so I’m going to deviate one more time.”
“It’s good to have fun, but play without getting hurt. If anything happens, call hyung.”
“Even if you miss me, you can’t contact me, hyung. Got it?”
He had no real intention of playing properly, yet there wasn’t a single thing he couldn’t say until the end.
Just from this, the answer to the journey they would have to walk seemed clear. The ending might make them cry.
Jiseo was already preparing his heart, casting himself as a shameless person who would make a child cry.

Crazy;; They’re restarting the virtual dating program?
Why are they doing this again? Is there demand for this?
Comments
Yeah (ㅇㅇ) They’re even taking votes, right?
What vote? Whether to revive the program or not? What is this, Mafia??
Not that kind of vote—I heard that to appear there, they receive pro/con votes through personal SNS
Whoa, there are really celebrities who posted votes?
Honestly, I don’t want the ones I stan to appear, but it would be fun to see pretty ones paired up or good-looking ones together
From what I see, the production staff is just shifting all the responsibility
↳Yeah (ㅇㅇ) They changed the format because they got cursed out so much
↳But isn’t that not really the production staff’s fault? What can they do about them hitting it off with each other;;
↳The very act of making such a program is the issue—besides, back then they just recruited people and matched partners
↳Still, they dated because they liked each other, why blame the production staff for that too;;
Virtual programs originally have insane shipping, right? If it’s unwanted shipping it’s super stressful, but this could become real instead of just shipping, so it might feel different. I’m in favor for now
It’s not like they’re being forced—if they like it themselves, I think it’ll be fun. Like/dislike is unavoidable and fans might hate it, but if the chemistry is good I think it’ll be fun. Just don’t live so exhaustingly and let it go
Yeah (ㅇㅇ) I also hope my idol doesn’t appear, but if they match well it seems like it’ll be worth watching
Be honest. Have any of you pressed the vote that’s hot these days?
It seems like actors are applying more than idols. Honestly, with that level of experience they should be allowed to date, so I voted in favor. I won’t say who though
Comments
Idols probably can’t appear. If they’re supposed to be active but go there to date around, the community will just explode
Can’t they appear if they’ve built up experience? Honestly, I don’t think young ones will appear, but from their thirties onwards they might want to appear. Honestly, won’t dopamine burst when you actually watch the broadcast? None of their faces are lacking
Even if the celebrity I stan appears, I think I’ll watch if they match well
The really popular ones can’t appear in that virtual dating thing, right?
People might want to see them date, but honestly this is blatantly setting up the stage for them. Like a real dating program, they live together then choose a partner and start filming. It’s a fresh role so the buzz will probably be high
Comments
Honestly, the cast hit it off, but they felt wronged about getting cursed at so they planned it like a dating program targeting celebrities
222 (I agree) Anyone can tell they blatantly set up the stage
↳There was already a post saying that
I like it because it’s fresh. Honestly, celebrities always have to date secretly, but isn’t it okay if they meet new people and feel excitement? All kinds of dating programs come out these days
I’m also just laughing at them setting up the stage, so my mindset is like “go ahead and try”
As long as it’s not my baby, whatever
Don’t actors not get as attached to ships?
Fuck (ㅅㅂ) But I don’t know why they’re doing this shit
I’m someone who doesn’t even understand why people watch regular dating programs—why are celebrities doing this, like what the hell (ㅇㅈㄹ). They’re probably appearing because they want to make money yeah (ㅇㅇ)
