Dojin climbed into the driver’s seat and even fastened Habin’s seatbelt for him. Habin, who had been waiting for him to do it, tugged at the end of the seatbelt. Understanding it was too tight, Dojin adjusted the stopper for him.
“Are you sure you’re okay to ride in the car?”
“Mm-hmm. I’m fine.”
He cooled his flushed, heated cheeks and nape with his somewhat cooler palms. At that, Habin let out a long breath with a completely relaxed expression, looking pleased.
“Hey.”
“Mm.”
“That sunbae, there won’t be any trouble later, right?”
“Are you worried?”
“Mm-hmm, we’re in the same department.”
Dojin gently stroked Habin’s cheek. It wasn’t that he didn’t understand Habin’s concern. Besides, Habin, who seemed bold but was actually quite timid, tended to worry about all sorts of things internally.
“It’s fine. If by any chance you have overlapping classes, just drop it. Let’s take a different elective together.”
The course adjustment period hadn’t passed yet. More importantly, perhaps because they were freshmen, they didn’t have many major courses, so the probability of overlapping classes was extremely low.
Habin knew that too. But he’d just been worrying about that one-in-a-million possibility, so at Dojin’s suggestion, he chuckled and brushed off his concerns.
“Let’s go home and have one more drink.”
Now that he’d gotten rid of what worried him most, all that remained was disappointment over the boring drinking session.
“You already drank a lot though.”
“Just one more, hmm? I couldn’t drink properly because it wasn’t fun.”
Dojin let out a hollow laugh looking at the whining Habin. Didn’t he remember saying earlier that he’d drunk about a bottle of soju?
“You know we don’t have soju at home.”
“I also know we have wine.”
Habin smiled, his eyes curving prettily into crescents, and leaned his face against the hand cupping his cheek. Then he rubbed his cheek and acted cute, so Dojin gave up on stopping him.
“I guess we’ll have to give up on tomorrow’s date.”
“Hm? We’re going on a date tomorrow?”
“Who was it that said let’s go see a movie tomorrow?”
The one who usually suggested going to see movies was Habin. So the person who’d said let’s go see a movie tomorrow was probably Habin, not Dojin.
Faced with an unexpected obstacle, Habin blinked blankly before dropping his head in disappointment. Watching him, Dojin chuckled and cupped Habin’s chin, lifting it up.
“Should we go see the movie in the evening instead?”
“…Really?”
“Yeah, really.”
Habin broke into a smile again.
* * *
Dojin let out a hollow laugh watching Habin, who had drunk half a bottle of wine by himself while nibbling on snacks. Whether he didn’t notice Dojin or not, Habin enjoyed himself steadily, having a feast with the wine bottle all to himself.
He knew it would be good for tomorrow’s Habin to stop him soon. But it wasn’t easy since whenever he sneakily tried to take the bottle away, Habin would get up as if saying “just try it” and bring a new bottle of wine.
Next time I’ll have to hide it somewhere else. He’d started drinking so suddenly that Dojin hadn’t been able to prepare properly.
“I’m done.”
“Then should we stop drinking and go to bed?”
Since what Habin had eaten was the last snack, there were no more accompaniments. Knowing that Habin wouldn’t drink without something to eat with it, Dojin quickly asked.
“Mm.”
Habin lifted the wine bottle and shook it while looking at the bottom. Following the light gesture, the remaining alcohol in the bottle sloshed.
“I want to finish this.”
His pronunciation was clear at first but got slurred toward the end. At Habin’s insistence, Dojin took the bottle from his hand and filled the empty glass. Deliberately pouring less into Habin’s glass, Dojin poured all the remaining wine into his own glass.
“Hey—”
Having had his drink stolen right before his eyes, Habin moved his lips in disbelief before puffing out his cheeks.
“How could you?”
“How could I what?”
Setting down the empty bottle, Dojin pretended not to know and smiled. Then, before Habin could take the glass, he picked it up and drank half of it right away.
“Gasp, my drink!”
“Habin’s drink is right in front of you.”
After setting down the glass once the amount matched what was in Habin’s glass, Dojin exhaled a breath thick with the scent of alcohol. He didn’t like drinking quickly, but he had no choice since he had to drink it before the colt could snatch it away.
“Who drinks that all by themselves?”
“Well, I thought I was drinking it together with Habin.”
Habin raised his eyebrows at Dojin’s shameless appearance. Even at his fierce look, Dojin’s smile didn’t waver.
At that, Habin looked back and forth between the glass in front of him and the glass in front of Dojin. Then he suddenly drank the alcohol in his glass all at once and stood up abruptly.
“Habin?”
Faster than Dojin could rise in response to the unexpected action, Habin came in front of him.
Habin pressed down on the shoulders of Dojin, who had risen awkwardly, trying to make him sit back in the chair. Planning to go along with what he wanted for now, Dojin didn’t resist and sat down.
Looking satisfied, Habin sat right on Dojin’s lap. Then he wrapped both arms around his neck and buried his face in his shoulder.
“Why are you suddenly doing this?”
Though it was an unexpected action, Dojin, who had caught Habin’s back, stroked the fluffy hair tickling his nape.
“Dojin—”
“Mm.”
Habin, who had drawn out the end of his words, slightly turned his buried face to look up. Lowering his head at Habin’s movement, Dojin realized what he wanted the moment he met his sparkling eyes.
“The drink in your glass—”
“No.”
Answering firmly before Habin could finish speaking, Dojin picked up the glass. Pressing Habin’s head down with the hand that had been stroking his hair so his nose was buried in his shoulder, he emptied the remaining alcohol.
“That’s so petty—”
“You already drank a lot. Now that we’ve finished the drink, let’s go to bed.”
Exhaling deeply to get rid of as much alcohol as possible, Dojin patted the back of Habin, whose feet were flailing. Then he gently pinched the tip of Habin’s nose as he pouted.
“You’re going to ask me tomorrow morning why I didn’t stop you.”
“I won’t.”
“Really? I think that’s what happened every time?”
“That’s—”
At a loss for words, Habin bit his lower lip. At the action of mistreating his thin lips, Dojin lowered his head and pressed their lips together. Habin blinked quietly at the warmth that settled on his lips.
Then when Dojin licked the bitten lip, he burst into soft laughter at the ticklish sensation. As a gap naturally opened, Dojin’s tongue skillfully slipped between them.
The hot, fleshy masses intertwined. As the wet sounds tickled his ears, Habin tilted his head back, scrunching up his eyes. Dojin firmly supported Habin’s waist as his weight shifted backward.
“Mmh—”
At the moan that resonated in his throat, Dojin took a step back. While Habin caught his breath, exhaling heated breaths, Dojin teased him by biting and releasing his lower lip.
Habin didn’t stop Dojin from playing with his lips, just leaving him be. It was because the languidness that came at the end of what could be called a short kiss dominated his entire body.
“Sleepy?”
Dojin stroked Habin’s drowsy eyes and laughed softly. Habin quietly nodded, then wrapped his arms around Dojin’s neck and his legs around his waist.
At Habin’s action of clinging like a koala, Dojin patted his back and kissed him one last time. Habin, who had responded to the action of gently ravaging his mouth with parted lips, let out a small yawn when the kiss ended.
“Should we lie down on the bed now?”
“Mm.”
As soon as Dojin finished speaking, Habin closed his eyes and buried his face in his nape. Understanding it as a signal to stop now, Dojin obediently agreed. It was about time for Habin to get sleepy anyway.
Habin squirmed, looking for a new position since his posture was somewhat uncomfortable. Dojin waited quietly in the meantime.
Having stopped all movement and finished by rubbing his face against their touching skin, Habin relaxed his body. Only then did Dojin rise from the chair, readjusting his hold on the limp Habin before moving.
Though traces of their drinking remained on the dining table, knowing Habin’s habit of sleeping stuck to him on nights when he drank, Dojin decided to put it off for later.
“Let’s change clothes before bed.”
“Mm, mm.”
Turning off the lights and entering the room, Dojin first sat Habin on the bed. Smiling faintly at Habin, who answered without even opening his eyes, Dojin changed his clothes with practiced movements.
Though sleepy, Habin faithfully moved to cooperate with Dojin’s actions and opened his eyes to slits. Then he stretched out both arms to cup Dojin’s cheeks and kissed him with a smacking sound.
“Lie down first.”
Understanding it was a sign of gratitude, Dojin lightly tousled Habin’s hair. Then when he laid Habin down, he squirmed and found the blanket to cover himself with.
After confirming with a sidelong glance, Dojin also changed into pajamas and turned on the indirect lighting. Just as he was standing in place wondering if he’d forgotten anything, Habin tapped the bed with his weak arm.
“Dojin—”
“Mm, I’m done.”
At the urging to hurry up and come lie down next to him, Dojin stopped thinking and went to Habin’s side. Even if he’d forgotten something, if it didn’t come to mind right away, it was probably okay to put it off.
He pushed Habin to the inner side before lying down on the bed. As if he’d been waiting, Habin rolled back toward Dojin’s side, buried his face in his chest, and placed an arm on his waist.
Matching that action, Dojin was embracing Habin when he barely held back a laugh that almost burst out at the heavy weight he felt on his thigh.
He tapped the very assertive leg a couple of times. At that, Habin opened his eyes to slits and stared at Dojin blankly, but instead of lowering his leg, he only pressed his body closer.
It seemed he had no intention of changing positions now, so Dojin just smiled faintly and hugged Habin. Then, burying his face in Habin’s hair, he quietly closed his eyes.
Perhaps it was because the now-familiar weight was with him, but he felt like he’d fall asleep easily.
