# Chapter 10

[Notification] Chapter 4 of <I’ve Been Possessed by a Real-Time Serial Novel> has been uploaded.

I stared at the notification for a while. Based on common sense, this shouldn’t be possible. Isn’t WiFi normally unavailable on airplanes?

Actually, I’d only ever flown domestic flights, so I didn’t know for sure. Even then, I hadn’t flown much, so I had no idea how advanced airplanes had become these days. Still, I knew not all planes were like this. Even if it were possible, there would be a paid service to request or some complicated procedure.

“Being S-class does have its perks.”

It was enviable that someone could enjoy such things without a second thought. But that was where my envy ended. I started scrolling through the novel.

The novel depicted me being transported while asleep. Director Kim Jeongseon claimed she had woken me up, but she hadn’t. Thinking “this is for the best,” she had me carefully transported as I was.

“Director, is this really okay?”

“According to Chief Secretary Hwang Changho, the relationship between the two is quite poor. If Guide Park Garam insists on not going, we’ll only delay the situation. We can explain after we’ve departed; it won’t be too late.”

Director Kim Jeongseon spoke coldly. She was known as a robot in the Diplomatic Management Department. She always put practical benefits ahead of emotions or morality.

She spewed lies fluently without even changing her facial expression. I almost fell for it. But even if I asked why she lied, she seemed like the type who would calmly explain her reasons.

“Scary.”

I glanced at the door where she was, then focused back on the novel. The novel showed me waking up, listening to her, and reading the novel. Unable to find another escape method, I eventually enter the White Box. The real issue was Kim Haewon’s situation.

Haewon created a protective barrier around himself as soon as he entered the gate. This was because the entire gate was locked.

As soon as Haewon created the barrier, giant man-eating whales charged at him. Whales with bizarrely protruding bones moved in groups.

‘A Leader!’

Haewon frowned at the unexpected situation. The monster’s rank seemed manageable. It appeared to be somewhere between S-class and Special S-class. He would need to find the leading monster to determine the overall rank. Haewon stirred the water with practiced ease. However, he suddenly realized his abilities weren’t working at all. The water’s concentration was strange. This had the form of water but wasn’t water. It was something new that completely resisted Haewon’s abilities and commands.

He hadn’t anticipated this situation. In fact, Haewon had been confident. He even thought he could complete the cleanup and return within an hour. He could finish any gate within three hours at most. He knew his abilities well.

But this nonsensical underwater battle changed things. Haewon realized the seriousness of the situation as he watched the whirlpool rising around him.

Haewon didn’t think deeply. His pupils instantly turned pure white. He was unleashing another ability he had sealed away.

Another ability of Haewon’s that even the Association didn’t know about. Pressure. Haewon extended his hand forward. The barrier protecting his body disappeared. The man-eating whales then swarmed towards him in groups. In that split second, Haewon curled his fingers.

Water sprayed everywhere. The whales, each the size of a large cargo truck, twisted instantly. Blood spurted and splashed, filling the water with chaotic colors.

Like a water tank stirred wildly with dark paint, something sank to the bottom of that turbulent space. The whales, shrunken like codfish completely dried in the sun, fell in droves.

Haewon lowered his arm, trying to suppress the boiling energy within him. The veins in his right arm moved dynamically, as if about to burst through the skin.

Haewon grabbed his right arm. The energy within his body was fluctuating so much that he could vividly feel his flesh trembling. Haewon instinctively recalled Garam’s guiding, which had purified his body like a gentle swim.

‘Why am I thinking about that guy?’

Haewon’s pride was hurt the moment he realized he had thought of Garam. He took out a syringe from his pocket and injected it with practiced ease. Then he moved forward.

He had managed well without such guiding until now. He would continue to do so. Haewon advanced as if clearing away Garam, who kept trying to dominate his thoughts.

Unfortunately, due to excessive energy consumption, the drug had little effect. Haewon injected another drug and scoured the gate.

The protective barrier was no longer necessary. The fierce, intensifying energy surrounding him prevented monsters from easily approaching.

Towards the monsters moving away from him as if fleeing from his impending rampage, Haewon extended his hand without hesitation. In the face of his mission and duty, Haewon feared nothing.

The page ended there. Before reading the comments, I mulled over the situation.

I couldn’t clearly remember how the S-class esper had resolved this situation in the previously serialized novel. The content seemed to have been condensed.

I only remembered that he had completed the gate cleanup on the verge of going berserk. Since the protagonist was a guide, the narration centered around him.

Using ‘Pressure’ explained why he was on the verge of going berserk. Among esper abilities, ‘Pressure’ was extremely rare. This ability to manipulate pressure could expand living beings in front of him or completely squeeze them out.

Not just living beings, but he could also apply pressure to inanimate objects, mainly used to explode surrounding buildings or mountains. It was a kind of dynamite.

If categorized, it would be classified as air or wind-based, but it could also belong to the telekinetic category.

There would be various reasons why he hid his pressure ability. Primarily, it would be for his own survival. Like most telekinetic-type espers, pressure was an energy-intensive ability.

He probably determined it was difficult to use without a proper guide.

Additionally, he might have judged that all issues could be resolved with his existing abilities without needing to unleash this one. He might have decided there was no need to draw unnecessary attention.

Haewon was already a top-tier esper among SS-class with his current abilities. If it became known that his abilities were even more exceptional, he might be sent straight to a laboratory. As the greatest esper never seen before in the world. Even with his currently disclosed abilities, pharmaceutical companies and medical science organizations worldwide wanted to analyze and study Haewon. To them, Kim Haewon was no different from an otherworldly being compared to ordinary people. He was a human with a completely different structure. Because he could manipulate anything related to water. If it became known unnecessarily, he would have to be stuck in the research wing except during mission times.

From another perspective, it also meant that Haewon’s current situation was extremely critical. To the point where he had to unleash an ability he hadn’t used before.

“I don’t know if he’s ignorant or stubborn…”

I clicked my tongue. It was pitiful to see him stubbornly swimming forward, determined not to think of me even in such an emergency. How much must he dislike me to go to such lengths?

The drugs that substituted for guiding had harsh ingredients and caused extreme pain upon injection. Although Kim Haewon was described as injecting it casually, it was actually an act that required enduring tremendous pain.

Amidst various complex emotions, I checked the comments. Today too, a few people were sharing their impressions.

[Reader1] Kim Haewon’s pride is insane. I’m on my knees tearing my pants

[Reader2] This is why I said don’t start serializing… Please continue writing…

⤷ Continue writing 2222

⤷ 333

[Reader3] Haewon ㅠㅠ You still haven’t come to your senses ㅠㅠ How much are you going to regret later? It’s already thrilling

⤷ Hahahahaha

Laughing? My head started to hurt as I watched people laughing. Human lives were at stake, yet they were laughing. I suddenly felt a chill run down my spine.

To these people, this story was just a novel. Regrettable, but fiction far removed from reality.

“How can they do that?”

Kim Haewon was a celebrity known to everyone regardless of nation or race. Not just him. Nam Ihyeon, who was practically the face of the Association, was the same.

Yet the people writing these comments were treating them like complete strangers. Like characters existing only in movies or novels. They acted as if they didn’t belong to this world.

Then what if I showed this novel to Kim Haewon? What if I informed everyone involved? Could I escape from this novel? Could I return to being a C-class guide?

My ordinary life. A life where I wouldn’t have to be forcibly put into a White Box or argue with the strongest man in the world.

Actually, I didn’t need expensive hospital rooms or in-flight WiFi. The enormous salary was a bit regrettable, but thinking of it as a life-risking hazard pay, I could give that up too.

Yes, alright. I’ll definitely show this novel to Kim Haewon. I’ll try to escape this damn novel.

For that, I first needed to save Kim Haewon. I needed to live too. As soon as I made that decision, the in-flight meal arrived. It was a lavish meal that could be seen in any luxurious restaurant.

I picked up a fork and approached the meal combatively. I was determined to survive and return on this plane again.

"Those who leave hate comments shall pay for their sins by being possessed into a novel."
