Wrong Meal 76

# Chapter 76

The moment I confirmed it was Yoo Wono, nausea rose in my throat. I felt both shocked and disgusted at finding myself in this situation again, being subjected to the same technique he had used on me before.

My condition wasn’t good to begin with, and after rolling once, my insides twisted. I covered my mouth to suppress a dry heave that escaped, and relaxed the tension in my body.

“It doesn’t seem like it was wrapped that long ago…”

Yoo Wono muttered as he tapped the knotted part of the bandage. Then, standing over my body with his legs spread, he turned his gaze toward my face.

The pitch-black eyes that met mine were startlingly clear. Suddenly, I felt a cold chill run down my spine as if ice water had been poured over me. I’m not sure if it was because I was lying flat on my back on the hard, cold floor, or if it was the goosebumps caused by his glistening eyes scanning my body.

What was certain was that this guy wasn’t in his right mind.

My wrist, caught by Yoo Wono, was stretched upward, pulling my upper body along with it.

“Urgh…”

A groan escaped me involuntarily from the vicious grip that felt like it would tear my arm off. Reflexively, I placed my hand on the floor and raised my upper body, which brought my surroundings into view.

Ye Abin, who was standing a few steps away, was looking back and forth between me and Yoo Wono with a slightly furrowed brow, seemingly surprised. Behind him, Jo Youngmin and Hong Hachan were gaping with blank expressions.

I shouted at Yoo Wono, who was still fiddling with my bandage.

“What are you doing?”

I twisted my wrist to free it from his grip, but it didn’t budge at all.

Is this some kind of black magic? How is it that I keep getting into one incident after another? Fucking hell, I never get a moment’s peace! The thought made me frown as I swallowed a sigh.

Yoo Wono, who didn’t even blink no matter what I said, raised the corners of his mouth in a smile.

“Did Dal wrap this for you?”

This crazy bastard. Biting my lip to hold back the curse that was about to burst out, I looked down at my bandaged wrist. Perhaps it was because I heard the term that Yoo Wono used to refer to Moon Seoheon, but suddenly the scene of Moon Seoheon wrapping a new bandage for me this morning flashed through my mind.

I wondered briefly how he knew Moon Seoheon had done it, when I noticed that the tightly tied knot was slightly loosened. The knot Moon Seoheon tied wasn’t particularly unique, but it was noticeable at first glance. But could he really tell Moon Seoheon had wrapped it just from seeing that?

It didn’t seem like he was even close by. What is he, a hawk-eyed freak? I stared at Yoo Wono with a look of disgust, feeling astounded.

“Would you please let go of my arm?”

I barely managed to speak, biting my lip to suppress the groan that was escaping. Even with the bandage providing compression, his grip was no joke, and the pain was immense. The stretched ligament had only just begun to heal, and now this asshole was causing trouble again.

First Byeon Seungha, now this—was my wrist some kind of communal punching bag? Every time I turned around, someone was grabbing it, and my head started to boil with anger.

For a moment, my head throbbed, and I tried to raise my hand to check if I had a fever, but I couldn’t since one hand was on the floor for support. My other hand was caught by Yoo Wono, making it difficult to move. As I stared at him with a deeply furrowed face, his upturned lips slowly turned downward.

“Right… I get it.”

Yoo Wono muttered in a low voice, tightening his grip on my caught wrist. My wrist throbbed with pain, forcing me to let go of the floor and grab his shirt.

“Wait a minute!”

With the surging pain and fever, I had no mind for politeness and shouted loudly. I pulled hard on the shirt I was gripping to indicate that he should let go of my wrist, when there was a ripping sound. I checked and saw that the side seam of his shirt had split open.

I was startled for a moment, but that wasn’t the main concern right now. Yoo Wono didn’t seem to care either; he didn’t even glance at his own clothes and instead grabbed me by the collar.

Just then, the surroundings began to get noisy. Tilting my head slightly, I noticed students who were passing by had stopped to watch us.

It was understandable that we would attract attention, sitting on the ground in the middle of a struggle with a guy known for being a troublemaker. Moreover, since we weren’t far from the cafeteria, students who had finished their meals were all gathering around.

As I looked around with a perplexed expression, I made direct eye contact with Kim Junwoo, who was standing among a group. His eyes were wide with surprise, and his face showed a hint of concern.

Ye Abin and the rest of the guys had moved a distance away and were now mixed with the students, watching us as if enjoying a show. In the brief moment our eyes met, I could see a gleam of amusement in Ye Abin’s gaze.

Despite the difficult situation, I frowned at the unpleasant feeling. The throbbing pain in my head worsened.

During the brief moment my mind was elsewhere, I felt the strength easing from my caught wrist. Wondering what was happening, I glanced at Yoo Wono and saw a face of intense concentration. Lowering my gaze, I saw he was unwrapping the bandage that Moon Seoheon had carefully wrapped around my wrist.

“Huh…”

A hollow laugh escaped me, I was so dumbfounded. I looked at Yoo Wono with disbelieving eyes, but he just smiled naturally, as if there was nothing wrong or strange about his actions.

“What are you doing?”

The situation was so absurd that my anger subsided. Perhaps because of that, the pain in my head decreased.

I covered the back of his hand with my palm, gripping it to stop Yoo Wono from unwrapping the bandage. At that, Yoo Wono raised his head and subtly tensed his body. As his tall and firm, though not overly muscular, figure approached, my upper body instinctively leaned back. I stiffened my waist to avoid falling backwards.

My stomach quickly tightened and my arms trembled. Yoo Wono, who gave me a glance, neither frowned nor laughed at my condition. He merely swatted my hand away as if shooing a fly.

As I stared dejectedly at my arm, which had been so easily knocked away, Yoo Wono asked:

“Did he wrap it because you’re friends?”

His tone was like a murmur, as if talking to himself. Since he wasn’t looking at me, it was hard to consider it a question directed at me.

Because of that, I just stared at him blankly, my lips moving slightly without words, when Yoo Wono continued.

“He doesn’t do it for me anymore… the bandages have disappeared too.”

His tone was calm as he spoke, but it sounded dejected. That voice was more creepy than pitiful. There was no emotion visible on his face. A chill ran down my spine as his words echoed in my head.

It made sense that he would remember I was Moon Seoheon’s friend, since he heard that the one time we met before. I found it surprising, but it was understandable since it related to Moon Seoheon.

However, his last statement bothered me. I rolled my eyes, examining him as if trying to dig into his thoughts.

All I could see was his mouth turned up into a long smile beneath his calm eyes—I still couldn’t tell what he was thinking.

Then suddenly, I remembered how disheveled he looked the last time I saw him. When I recalled the bandages stuck to his dirty face and wrapped around his neck, I began to understand why he was so fixated on the bandage around my wrist.

That bandage he had been wearing must have been wrapped by Moon Seoheon. I clicked my tongue as I remembered him taking bandages out of the trash and saying crazy things about how precious they were.

So he wants to take the bandage wrapped around my wrist now just because Moon Seoheon’s hands touched it? I heaved a deep sigh and raised my head high.

Somehow my vision was blurry, and I found it difficult to remain conscious. With the headache and the feeling of my body growing heavy, I truly felt my physical condition worsening.

I released all tension in my body, deciding to let Yoo Wono take the bandage if he wanted it. Rather than continuing to argue with this guy, it seemed better to end this situation quickly and get out of here.

More spectators must have gathered, as the surroundings got noisier. The buzzing noise made my head feel like it was going to split even more.

As I pressed my fingers firmly against my head, squeezing it in an attempt to alleviate the headache, a shadow fell over me as someone approached from the side.

I remained still, not even having the energy to check who it was, when the person grabbed my arm that was wrapped around my head.

“This guy’s wrist is injured, you shouldn’t unwrap it.”

That voice sounds like Kim Junwoo. I slightly raised my head, and as expected, I saw Kim Junwoo’s face. However, his form appeared doubled, so I tightly closed my eyes and then opened them again. For a moment, I felt dizzy as everything in front of me looked pitch black, as if I had gone blind.

As I was rubbing my blurry eyes, Kim Junwoo continued speaking.

“Hey, get up.”

I realized he was talking to me, but I couldn’t respond. My mind was still clear, but my body felt as heavy as a waterlogged cotton ball.

“…Your face is red…”

Noticing that my condition wasn’t normal, Kim Junwoo knelt down and grabbed my shoulder. His murmuring voice was full of concern.

Seeing my condition, it felt like I was about to faint soon. I was grateful and relieved that Kim Junwoo had come over, sparing me the worry of collapsing alone, so I leaned against him. It was a request for support.

Then, feeling an inexplicable unease at Yoo Wono’s continued silence, I turned my gaze toward him.

Yoo Wono was holding a stone that had appeared from somewhere. It wasn’t large, small enough to fit in his hand, but the way he was gripping it didn’t look good at all.

I heard Kim Junwoo gasp as he turned his head toward where I was looking. He seemed as shocked as I was.

I cursed under my breath and gritted my teeth. It seemed I might not collapse from fever but from being hit by that fist.

He never seemed quite right in the head, but he looked truly terrifying now, as if he had completely lost his mind. The brawl he had with the High Class guys flashed before my eyes like a panorama.

Seeing his fist extending toward Kim Junwoo, I squeezed what little strength I had left despite the pain and grabbed Yoo Wono’s shirt, pulling it. As a ripping sound echoed, I shouted:

“Don’t you want to race against Moon Seoheon at the sports festival?!”
